To Whistle Blow or not to blow, that is the question

    You told your boss, you have done your job, DO NOT GO OVER HIS HEAD...that will be a disaster for you.

    Start printing emails and documentation that shows you told him etc, and if the crap hits the fan that is your get out of jail free card.

    Going over his head, even if successful, will eventually cause you to be fired.

    Trying to crack the code or security in house is a standard procedure for security risks, so you can address them internally before they get out externally and get exploited.

    Sounds like standard business practices to me.

    Do the right thing. Don't worry about getting canned -- you can probably get another job much more easily than a lot of the unemployed people out there right now. As for getting other people canned, you already told them not to do it, so it's on their heads.
