Yao isn't mentally soft like Tmac, but he does play soft sometimes.

Yao is not a super star, nor is TMac, as I stated in another post. How can you call someone a super star without any achievement in the playoff?

this is his first bad series. he has been dominant in all other playoff series. for some reason, he has sucked in this series.

but yao is single covered. at least tmac gets a lil attention from utah to excuse his pathetic play. yao is being played straight up.

to tell u how bad the center position is, even kwame brown is dominating the suns right now.

he's too slow man, and he can't change that. he's more mobile than any other 7'6 thats ever been in the nba, but that still not half as athletic as shaq, alonzo, and hakeem were. he's doing the best he can with what he has, i guess. but i am disappointed that yao doesnt seem to have post moves anymore. he doesnt even try to shake defenders anymore.

All the team should be listed in this way because Yao is playing the best of all that we have.

I mentioned the matter to a chinese friend and his observation as to why Yao has limited himself to just a few moves, his response was:-
a] Yao is doing what the coaches tell him to do and/or
b] Yao has not fully recovered and is just doing his best to help the team.

The reason why Yao Ming looks so slow when guarding Okur and Boozer is that he is being required to also do the job that our tall athletic Power Forward should be doing.[of course we only have defunct Howard and 6'6" Chuck Hayes]
So we are short of a Playmaker Point Guard , an athletic tall Power Forward and a third option scorer. Without these players it is very difficult to defeat any team which is fully loaded.

Yao's not soft, he's just not explosive. He is taking too long to initiate his offense, though.
