Good discussion everybody. I am glad this didnt devolve into "Rockets suck/sky falling" or blind idealists claiming there is nothing to be worried about. And again, yes I know last nights game wasnt important, and this was not a reaction to that game (altho our play still supports the general point). In reality, I think we are a season or so away from making ridiculous noise, but its that time together and experience/maturity that will glue our loose actions into place. We need some size, and we need focus and discipline as a unit. Our shooters will find their way, and if we can do the above in the future, then those good habits will lean towards better play when the shots arent falling. Its too bad were still building this in the Pop-Spurs/Warriors-dream-team/Lebron era, but oh well lol.
every player has shooting slumps, there is no need to make a new post when they do. Shooting threes is the game plan, he will be fine.
I'm not worried. Growing pains and injuries always take their toll. Also, Houston doesn't have the talent to coast but the Rockets coasted anyway. The real games start soon, get your popcorn ready and quit whining
Are you really trying to make yourself feel better just bc you're allowing yourself to type 5 large lol. You go on this hilarious rant trying to explain yourself, yet you spit out with such certainty that the rockets will lose due your usual were missing Rubio agenda. You act like you're calling me out when I already bet as a hobby. Pretty simple to me. You are so certain houston is going to lose but you want to cry about $5k. An amount you probably thought would have some shock value and make you look cool. So does the reasoning still apply to a smaller amount? My guess is no bc you simply always try to cover yourself when I've never seen you right about anything around here. As a gambler if you're truly willing to talk about those types of units, a lesser amount would be absolutely no problem to wager no matter what side you're on. So nice try but you get caught there old man
Total garbage. I made it real clear I don't ever bet against my team. Keep your word if we're up against the Spurs in round 2.
Then don't bring up units as if you're some big bank bc any true bettor that plays that as their min or basic unit doesn't play according to "my team". They'd be willing to play whatever the play is regardless bc you put your favoritism to the side. Like I said you just got caught. You tried to make yourself seem like someone you're not. "tune of $5k" Oh please. Gtfoh with that
The problem is that this team is good enough to let us dream, and that has allowed us to catch a glimpse of the LO trophy, which is what makes their second half so frustrating. So in some way, I'm very grateful for sharing the OP's frustration, it's the good kind. I personally think the effort and focus will definitely improve in the playoffs, the guys overall just seem to be on autopilot until then. You can see it just in the way they run off screens, aren't as gutsy on 3 pointers, don't go after the offensive glass as much after 3s. Just compare the Cleveland game to the rest of the games in the 2nd half season, friggin night and day. If we play with that level of effort, I think the shooting will come back. They're playing right now like they're waiting for their shooting to come back before they start playing with more effort, which I think is completely backwards. Once the energy and intensity picks up, the shooting focus will sort of naturally come back. I do share a lot of OP's concerns, but I'm waiting until Game 1 to make any more judgments.
