Agreed with most of what you say except this: If Morey knew Lin was this good, he would have given him an extension (a cheap one) before Lin became a RFA. This is why people are saying that NYK was stupid not giving Lin a straight up contract and letting him go out to "test the martket." There would have been no poison pill.
Fair enough .... tho when has it ever been the Rockets policy to extend players during the season. Playing behind both Dragic and Lowry , I dont think he gets as great an opportunity to showcase his talents. In that case , he likely comes cheaper than the $8.337m per he now costs .... (not arguing the point , agreeing to it).
Treading water for three years. If we don't tank this year, like I suspect, then it will be four years. That's not the sign of a good GM. More like a GM who doesn't want to lose his job.
whoa whoa whoa whoa.... people that spell our GM's name as "Maury" doesn't mean that we hate on him. Maury makes things happen and we respek him for that, but we just don't praise him for being 9th place. At this moment, I am starting a "No Love, No Hate For Maury" group. I hope clutch doesn't mind if I piggy back his creation to form this group. If we become a powerful enough group, I'll start appearing with Mr. Hardisty on radio shows. If not, I'll just stay right here at my computer and Rock my post count.
What depresses me about Morey haters, or just plain haters, is that they basically ignore what Morey did in the Yao/T-Mac era. When Morey became the Rockets GM, he added the following players to the Rockets IN TWO YEARS. Luis Scola(solid starter) Carl Landry(excellent 6th man) Aaron Brooks(starting PG) Kyle Lowry(almost star PG) Ron Artest(almost star wing player) I don't mind being pissed that Morey's moves kept us in a state of mediocrity the past two years, but I'm saddened that people basically crap on the Rockets of a few years ago when they had tons of success - 22-game win streak with Yao missing half the season, 2nd round and taking the lakers to 7 w/o T-Mac, Deke, and then Yao.
