Why do you look only at assist percentage when you evaluate players? That’s super bizarre. You don’t value ANYTHING else? Efficiency be damned?
Because Point Guard duties are assists first and foremost. Assists and Ast% are top priority. SG and SF"s are notorious for supporting the PG by cutting to the basket or receiving the passes out on the perimeter for Catch-n-Shoot baskets. If your Catch-n-Shoot players shoot like garbage from 3 then the paint gets packed and the result is going to be poor FG% because you are not getting to the rim often and getting clean shots off. NBA Percentage by the rim are usually around 60% or better which brings up a players FG%......but when teams are allowed to pack the paint because Tate, Sengun, Theis, Jalen Green shoot pathetic from 3 during stretches of the season....not even Michael Jordan would have a good FG%, point outcome or dunks. The numbers are skewed towards those who have spacing vs those who don''t. Do you understand now? This is why I project KPj numbers to be better this season. Because Sengun stamina should be set now for a full season and not just the first 20 games. Sengun shot 40% from 3 in the first 20 games but like 19% the rest of the season. Jalen Green now knows the speed of the game and now understands the stamina needed to perform the wholeeeeee season. Hopefully that rookie Wall is cut out. J Christopher now understands the stamina rookie wall issues. Tate has been working his butt this whole off season on 3's. Results in greater spacing which results in more room in the paint for facilitators such as Jalen Green, JC and yes one Porter Jr. Tari and Jabari will have to prove they can hit 3's for a full season but will cause problems rolling to the rim that the opposition has to keep account of. They don't want them to get easy dunks. Results in vertical spacing. Something Wood did not give us because he didn't want to roll to the basket (afraid of rolling an ankle).
Jordan didn't get out of the first round until he got better players around him. It's a team sport. Point Guards don't pass to themselves and quarterbacks don't pass to themselves either. Both are relying on others to make them look better. Go watch tennis or chess if you want individuals who do it solely by themselves.
The Apache have great warriors. They will fight till the end no matter how hopeless the situation is.
The question dumb bc we have both players. KPJ is a better shooter, rebounder, defender, ball handler, passer, and has a deeper bag. You’re delusional if you don’t see that.
Jalen was more efficient as a ROOKIE then kpj was in his 3rd season….if green isn’t much better then kpj this coming season that would be extremely concerning for the rebuild
