No they don't. Your right, but growing up the man with the ball in hand. Some might have an issue with that. If they can coexist and play team ball with all, they're gonna grow.
Wut? So you don't need high level guys to go around that guy? Is the rebuild finished, and no other players are going to be acquired? This makes zero sense.
pretty much only one more chance to get "that guy" and that's the 2023 draft, if it's another non mvp then the rebuild has failed and jalen green has failed
He hasn't gotten a whole lot better in three years in this metric. That doesn't mean he won't improve but .... I'd say the odds are against him making a leap from terrible to above average. While Wood wasn't the best screen setter, and I was one of the first to point that out - he had to be accounted for as a 40% 3 point shooter and a threat to finish at the rim or from the wings. He also had Sengun to work with and he's a very good pick setter / finisher from mid range & at the rim. Consistency .... As @harold bingo said in a recent post in this thread, he's flashed every skill. What he hasn't done is done anything consistent, except be inconsistent ..... I hope his final form is an MVP like Harden, the physical ability is obviously there. His final form boils down to decision making and consistency. Looking at those last weeks of the season, he got more usage which increased the stats at the same per possession rates .... and when you remove CW's 16 shots a game, the obvious recipients were Green and KPJ. I think the real disconnect here is that you are willing to pay him now at a higher rate based upon your projections while I'm only willing to extend him right now up to his cap hold which is $9.65m. Anything above that amount, I'm better off paying after any free agent or trade movement since I have matching rights. No, I don't think the Rockets point guard of the future is on the roster right now. Green isn't a point guard .... even if he does have the quick first step. I don't much care for Nix and don't think Tyty is an NBA athlete .... They either get their PG of the future in the next draft or trade/FA in one of the next two offseasons. I still think KPJ is better suited as an off guard where he can get many more opportunities to do things he's actually good at (catch and shoot) instead of things he's bad to average at pick N roll / isolation. That also takes the offensive load off of him and he has more to give on the defensive end ..... where he can make a real difference. That might be the biggest improvement he has made since he showed up in Houston.
He probably will most of the time, but the hope is that as Green develops, he'll be able to help KPJ out running the offense a bit. The two will feed off of one another. If defenses ever fear Green, KPJ will torch them, if they stay focused on KPJ, Green will have the opportunity to torch them.
Lol I was just making sure you weren’t sleeping on the job and allow a positive KPJ comment be posted. Keep up the good work
KPJ needs to put up a full, quality season showing improvement with no serious issues to get paid. I hope the Rockets feel the same way.
