If the team feels like he has moved on from the BS and will in NO WAY have any negative affect at all on the others, then extend him. Something in the 12-15 range for 3 yrs with a PO for the 3rd. That way if he does outplay it he can opt out for more after yr 2. Fair for all parties. BUT... there has to be some sort of clause that gives the team the option of cutting him if any actions on his part on or off the court are determined to be detrimental to the team in any way.

No, I think that people who don't want to extend the most talented player on the team at a reasonable rate (15-18 mill a year) now in the hopes that they'll lose him after he fetches offer sheets for 20+ mil a year next year are being foolish.
