He was really good early on finishing in the mid range .... and had a couple missed dunks by Fernando that should have increased his assist total.

He had a terrific box score with 21 points 7 boards 7 assists 2 steals ..... and 4 turnovers.

But when you look at the entire game, it shows the good and the not so good of KPJ and sums up exactly why this thread was 174 pages long.

"i just want to see him run the pick and roll and be efficient"

and right on cue it shifts to the obvious.

He’s wasn’t a “turnstile” on defense. That’s absurd. He had a decent defensive rating and guarded Murray pretty well.

I swear, KPJ is one of the most unfairly criticized players I’ve ever seen. He had a good game and people are like, “He missed an open Jabari on these couple of possessions.” Every player can be bashed if you delve into such play-by-play scrutiny.

Meanwhile, Sengun had 6 TOs over 22 minutes and there are a bunch of people on this board quick to defend every one.

Be careful - you'll be accused of being a fanboi, cultist, family member, scumbag idiot - who has an agenda only for KPJ!

Watch the video. There were several "Blow By's" involving Porter.

Like I said, that game sums up why we've argued about Porter for 175 pages.

There's some fantastic and some .... WTF.

    Stop with the agenda BS.

I'm highly critical of Sengun. He's a terrible defender and I question whether he has the size and athleticism to play the center position.

    He's been terrible.

For all the good and bad things stated about KPJ, his performance should focus more on his role as the court general and organizing his teammates on both sides of the court. That, to me, is his primary job.

I still like KPJ more as a scoring guard as opposed to a point guard. He has the ability to score, but I just don't see the court vision.

Too much dribbling. Too little movement. That’s his problem.

I swear the less he tries to do the better he’ll be.

I hope KPJ stays on the Rockets but coming from the bench. I think he could be great from there. As a guard paired with Green, I don't see it as a long-term solution to being a top 5 team in the NBA.

KPJ's defense tonight was a global embarrassment. He appears to focus on highlight reel offensive plays and little else.

KPJ flexes too much after he make a basket,,,,that is so immature. I keep watching him play and he doesn't play like a PG he is a Small Forward plain and simple. He is a nice and catch shooter, he can rebound and he has handles to drive on players but he is not a PG. He can average 20 points a night and play good defense but he needs to focus playing Small Forward.

If KPJ doesn't learn how and when to pass a bit better, he will be traded after his value is up higher...he and Jalen as I said last year are the SAME player, both are attacking SGs.

There's only one more evolution necessary for him to be a serious starter in the NBA, and that's to choose more of the shots he's good at making and to do it with fewer dribbles. Skills and talent are there, it's a mental bravery game now. I'm rooting for him.

D-rock wasn’t the only one claiming KPJ had already surpassed Brunson last year

the small contingent of KPJ stans said he’s garbage without Luka and KPJ will shine because “Silas is gonna open up the playbook this year and stop running vanilla offense”

it’s early, but so far Brunson is just continuing how he played last year with Luka out of the lineup

20, 5, and 9 on 52/41/85 splits and just 2 turnovers a game on the season…Brunson is very skilled and crafty

other names brought up include Tyrese Haliburton, SGA, and 6MOY Harden

we’ll see if KPJ is better than any of them this year

Bruno is very good, but he’s also 26. Doesn’t seem like an incredibly fair comparison. If anything, Brunson is evidence against those claiming KPJ “is what he is.”
