You keep forgetting we were tanking two years in a row. Porter went down for assignment with Vipers as PG to learn.....came back up as SG predominantly because Wall was screwing around at PG. Wall didnt exactly help create spacing. per basketball-reference.com Cavs (19/20)....0 (PG%).......24% (SG%)....76% (SF%) Hou.(20/21)..*30% (PG%)..59% (SG%)....11% (SF%) Hou...(21/22)...94% (PG%)....6% (SG%).......0 (SF%) *30% at PG with/without John Wall for 26 games and Wood, Eric Gordon, Olynyk getting shuffled in and out of the lineup and having to get to know teammates is hardly relevant to those who know basketball and the complexities involved. As in the movie "Young Guns" "not just any geek off the street" can come into the NBA and play quarterback in the NBA (greatest level) and be flawless. Only a moron thinks that. We used to be ok but when I started taking up for KPJ, something snapped in him. Now I just like pulling his chain a bit.
oh the irony. usual folks on this board will criticize teams like sac, ny etc for paying certain players and act like they're not even as good as some mediocre player like KPJ. Yet advocating to overpay and call a mediocre player some star which he isn't. Funny how the mental hoops work with these delusional goggles
Seems to me that you are overlooking the fact that creating your own shot as a lead guard is a critical skill .... and when you remove the shots that are created by others - those catch and shoot opportunities, his numbers are below league average. Yes, being able to catch and shoot is a very useful skill .... but not critical for a player who has the ball in his hands the vast majority of his time on the court.
We'll see how badly Stone wants to keep him when he offers KPJ a contract, assuming it's made public. As for your other point, I posted what I thought about @King1's comment. I thought it was over the top. Looks pretty "stilted," and I don't mean Wilt. When he takes the shot, it looks like he's posing for a photo session with Vogue. Just kidding! ;-)
It's crucial for a player sharing the court with Sengun and Green though.... you know, the exact situation he's in. His ability to run the offense creating for himself and others while also being able to play off ball is why he's such an important player for the Rockets.
Over the top? The dude is downright a rude arse. Clearly has no Basketball IQ, literally just here to troll. DD
I am not missing anything, KPJ can create his own shot as well. You are just nitpicking something to have issues with, just look at Brunsons numbers they are not that much better. Maybe the reason his other numbers are below NBA average is that he is playing with a lot of other below-average NBA players? Why are you ignoring what he does higher than NBA average?
Man, things went from 0 to LOF quick in here. I don’t even like Brunson. Think he got overpaid. And I like Porter. Think he has some serious potential, but still a lot of questions to be answered and maturity to prove. Right this second he is not worth the money Brunson got(again I don’t think Brunson is worth what he got) for both on and off the court reasons. But that could change depending on how this season goes.
I wish Clutch would permaban this troll like he has in the past. It's obvious that he runs a number of alt accounts on this site.
