ummm pretty sure that's exactly what i'd say. If i'm saying it now for kpj, why would it be different for green? That makes zero sense

I hope you're right. He could be huge if he can keep his head in check.

are you sure? because Green would be considered a bust if he really finished his third season still shooting 54 TS, and 1 win share. That means zero improvement after 3 years, which means he would like be just a role player path rather than all star.

I would be preaching patience so long as I saw flashes in multiple areas as KPJ has and was just struggling to put it all together.... and 9 mill is an insult to a starting guard as I'm sure we all know.... and it would be intended as an insult

I agree, I think KPJ is worth more than that based on potential for improvement. The thing about his type of player is that he's either a 15-20MM type of player, or he might struggle to find a role at all.

9MM a year is more for a true role player, which I don't really see KPJ becoming.

We will see, if he makes massive improvement this season which I am hopeful for, I wouldn't mind matching a big contract in the off season

True. But Kpj is not a starting point guard, we are starting him to develop him in this position. I don't think any team other than the rockets would make him the main ballhandler.

So the logical conclusion is either he will be paid more if he improves OR he will not be starting point guard.

If he picks up where he left off at the end of last season, he will be well compensated.

but if green is that bad his 3rd year, he wouldn't really be viewed as a starting guard at that point, but more of a 7th-8th man bench scorer

He was one of the worst players in the league for most of last season and one of the largest reasons why the Rockets had the worst record in the league and we had plenty of people here begging to drink his bathwater... if he progresses his skills across the board to where KPJ's are and shows flashes of what he might become if he finally puts it all together, you won't be finding people here looking to dump him at 22 because his efficiency stats suffered while trying to carry an entirely garbage team that couldn't help him even a little for most of the year.

And they won't be calling him a 7th or 8th man either.

You think far too highly of yourself. I am simply responding to stupidity and it just so happen that you say a lot of stupid things, just like right now! Beyond that, I don't give a damn who you are.

You are aware that Jalen Green finished the season averaging 17 points on TS 55%, whilst KPJ finished on 16 points on TS 53% right? Or is it Green's fault that KPJ was so inefficient?

This is including the atrocious start that Green got off to and had to dig himself out of.

I definitely don’t. You just find joy in being a hater. I’m glad that another man doesn’t give a damn who I am lol. Your obsession with wanting to debate this with me is a waste of time. You don’t have to agree with me, but you’re wrong

Awesome.... yet he was one of the largest net negatives to the team when on the court. The Rockets don't even win 20 games if Green doesn't get hurt early in the season.

Maybe there's more to basketball than ppg.

I'm high on Green's future potential, but he was terrible far more than he was good last year... and that was with KPJ doing the heavy lifting taking the heat off of him. If KPJ wasn't around to do that and it fell on Green, his numbers would have taken a serious hit.

So maybe be a Rockets fan instead of a Green fan and appreciate the whole team.

    Or not, who cares?

There you go again, you just love spewing idiocy don't you?

Hating means I feel emotion for the target of "hate". I don't have a shred of emotional attachment for KPJ beyond being happy in the moments where he does something useful while the front of his uniform says Rockets, so how can there be hate? We can wake up tomorrow and find out he's been traded to the Kings and you know what my reaction would be? It would be one huge ambivalent "Meh". Same thing if we extend him for $12-15M. I literally don't give a crap, because he has not shown he is actually player worth giving a crap about. How care there be hate? There isn't, because you either don't understand what the word actually means or you are such a stan that any opinion beyond "OMG HE'S GOING TO BE THE NEXT BIG SUPERSTAR!" is perceived as "hate" in your IQ 0 world.

Now, I will tell you what I do have feelings about, namely amusement, and that's responding to or mocking ridiculous posters and their takes like yours. It's funny, truly entertaining, to see what kind of asinine hole you will dig up next to jump into. That's prime entertainment for me.
