My impression is that he is the most enthusiastic fan of Sengun. Sengun is my favourite player to watch as well (I just love the creativity and "swag"), but I am not quite as determined lol.
I don’t listen to any Rockets podcast or read Rockets Twitter, so I can’t speak on what Sengun fans may or may not be saying over there
Again... he was a bad fit for this group. He might look better with the Mavs. I expect he will. If he goes in with the same $hit attitude they won't play him. Period.
I am a big KPJ and I believe in his talent. I feel like he has the ability to be really good if he can put it together. The things I say aren’t what I think he is, but what I think he could be. This season will tell it all. I know you guys see the talent, y’all just aren’t as optimistic that he’s gonna put it together. I get those opinions and concerns
Sengun fans also say some absurd things, but some of them aren't really serious. Sengun has at least two things over KPJ in terms of fan support. 1. Sengun is a very likeable dude. It's really hard to hate him. KPJ lacks that charm. 2. Sengun still has the "potential" thing on his side. He was a rookie with limited play time. KPJ was a third year player who was given extensive starter minutes.
hakeem94 believes that if Larry Bird had Stephen Silas as coach in his rookie year and was given limited play time, he wouldn't be as good as Sengun.
KPJ still has potential. Look at the number of games he’s played. He’s not close to being a finished product.
Of course KPJ still has potential. But it's not the same as a rookie with limited time who still has the excuse of not getting the opportunity to shine. KPJ has been given every opportunity and his weaknesses were exposed. Most KPJ critics do not question his potential. They just don't think like KPJ fans who believe that the guy is a sure thing and should be locked up immediately with a hefty long term contract.
I kind of can't believe this stupidity is still going on with no new information to discuss and the season so near. The people who think the Rockets should give up on the most talented player on the roster because they are an ancient 22 years old and not a finished product aren't the kinds of people worth talking to.
Yeah... I really don't think so. 15/6 player with poor scoring and passing efficiency who is a solid, but not great defender? That's not going to net him a "near max contract" even if the other team was the Knicks.
We’re not saying he’s a sure thing, we’re just optimistic about what he’s gonna become. Just bc Sengun is “2 years” younger, doesn’t mean he just has more potential. KPJ played SF his first season, his 2nd season he just played that last stretch of games for us, and last season he started at a new position. He’s not as experienced as y’all make him out to be.
Sengun has the luxuries of: Having a high BBIQ Having no maturity or behavioral issues Being a rookie where the game still needs to slow down for him Many of his core issues (strength and stamina) are easily addressable KPJ is still really young, but his clock is ticking a lot quicker than Sengun's.
KPJ… is gonna be on the floor to close every game. Sengun… is gonna be the bench a lot of times bc of his limitations
For one thing, you don't see the attitude below in the sengun thread, whereas this is almost typical for kpj fans.
https://www.nba.com/stats/players/clutch-traditional?CF=GP*G*20:FGA*G*1&dir=A&sort=FG_PCT KPJ's fg% in clutch time is 28.6%, 80th out of 86 players who has at least 1 fga per game, with at least 20 clutch games. He was given the keys to the team as the main ball handler, he will be on the floor, hope he fills that role.
Of course not, Sengun doesn’t get hate from people! Don’t get me wrong, like him too! I’m just staying facts and what I believe. Jabari, Tate, EG, Jalen, and KPJ are gonna close games lol. Don’t get mad at me, that’s on the coaches
Well that is what Harden got with comparable numbers....so, you might be right, you might not be.... DD
