You shouldn't look at the trade as a good move or bad move but the only move. If reports are true about Westbrook (him not showing up for camp for one) then it is apparent there was going to be some drama going on. Westbrook's contract wasn't appealing for teams across the league.

Wall and Westbrook's situation is basically the same as ours. Wall was unhappy and made it public as did Westbrook to a lesser extent. There was really not much of an option left other than having more drama in an already fragile situation. We have seen what bad chemistry can do to a team during the Howard era, I think the trade was more about avoiding that than anything. It is a gamble but a good one.

    Only move? Zero risk? No.....

It certainly might end up being the best move given the current situation but it will have to play out to.

What if Stone told Russell he was to find a trade destination and Westbrook is free to have more vacation time?

Then his time off was absolved.

    He wouldn't have told you.

A more preferable trade would have been a bad contract plus Rui Hachimura. (Japanese and Asian market)

He fills a need for a potential rebuild and the SF slot.

I think no matter what it is a positive as him on the floor in the playoffs meant we are losing.

Better to roll the dice with Wall.......than to watch that **** SHOW another year.

    What a silly take

Already lost a lottery pick, owe 2 more picks, got the lesser player in the trade, and even worse - CP3 was flipped for positive value 1 season later (after giving OKC a great season that helped them reach the playoffs).

That trade was a disaster and us having to use Harden to negate the value loss does absolutely not make it a win.

Running it back with CP3 and Harden would have been a better move. Morey made a mistake by listening to Hardeb

Don't think it was a Morey decision.....you really think HE thought it was a good idea to make that trade?
