i wont argue that, but the letter to eddie was not refering (ha ha, reefer) to a "slow death" so to speak. i would bet that pot is harmful to you much like cigs, but that is not what the letter to eddie was about. lots of stuff in this world is bad for you and can eventually kill you and alot of that stuff is legal.

that guy seemed to be saying that if you smoke pot you will die. i would assume that said person fails to distinguish hard drugs that can actually kill you like heroin from pot, which is fairly harmless. dont get me wrong, i dont condone eddie's smoking pot. he is a pro athlete and gets paid millions to keep his body in the best shape possible. he let the city down, let there be no doubt. i smoke (obviously), but if i was getting paid his money i would find other things to do.

alcohol is way worse for you than pot is and thousands of people die every year as a direct result of it...yet it is legal. how many drinkers cause fights at sporting events, kill themselves or someone else on the road, beat their spouse, die from alcohol poisoning, ect each year? ALCOHOL KILLS! but it generates alot of money for the government in taxes so it is legal.

pot is illegal cause the man cannot regulate it. it is a weed that anyone and their grandmother could (and do) grow w/ the greatest of ease. how could uncle sam tax and profit from something like that?

Well, anybody can grow tomatoes, carrots, or an herb garden, yet it doesn't stop them from buying that stuff in a supermarket. America is a lazy society by nature, and would much rather buy pre-manufactured weed than grow it, dry it, and roll it themselves.

Weed is illegal because the plantation owners that originally grew tobacco saw it as a threat to their profits and pressured lawmakers to make it illegal.

All that being said, though, I say legalize

LOL! I came close dammit - gimme some credit! Besides, how could one write about EG & not have the word "brick" involved.

Maybe all of these EG threads can be combined into one giant one. Maybe a separate EG only forum...

and the beer and liquor industry, the pharmecutical industry, the fuel and energy industry and the logging industry along w/ big tobbacoo are all the biggest lobbyists against pot.

and who you think payed for that dumb commercial where the teenage girl in the bathroom w/ her parents finds out that she is pregnant? the dad looks away and starts to cry as the mom goes to hug her "slutty" daughter. fade to black and we are told that she got pregnant cause she smoked pot...that is the biggest load of crap i have ever seen on t.v. and the best part is that we the taxpayers funded it! what an ignorant waste. we could have had a sexed-up beer commercial or something!:D

nothing wrong w/ a little indulgence (unless you are a multi-millionare pro-athlete whose job requires you to be drug free).

if you want to learn more about the history of pot in the u.s.a. i would recommend "grass" narrated by woody harrelson. quite shocking when they show how much money the government has wasted throughout the decades-long war on drugs.

So when grandmas can grow pot in their backyards the plantation owners saw pot as a threat to tobacco profits?
