Lol. Whatever. Considering you've seen me out, you're just talking out of your ass with the insults, and you know it.

Here's me being honest: I've never had a problem with UH other than the bandwagon fans who root for UT. I personally would LOVE to see UH have a good program, if only to get some UT T-shirts away. PLUS, unless they're playing Tech, I like to see them do well.

That said, y'all are massively jumping the gun on this. I've been to UH games in the past decade by die-hard alums (and even he only went from time to time.) They were depressing affairs. Only a sadist would go to every one of those debacles the past decade.

Quit with the Stadium talk for now. UH needs to have alumni banking Sumlin to stay. Do that, and I can see a new stadium possibility.

And knock it off with the personal insults.

You called me a liar before I called you bitter, chief. So don't play the victim here.

Everything else you just said I agree with, some more than others, but all valid points, however, if you had a chance to see what has been planned the past 5 years and what the new admin (new AD and new Uni president) have been up to you might change your mind a little bit.

And yes, I am a masochist for having sat through 0-11, because I love my school and I love my team, just like you do.

Hold on a minute. UH has not been "dominating" C-USA. In fact they haven't even won a game in conference this year. All this hype is about their wins vs. Northwestern State, OSU and Tech. They didn't win the conference last year. In fact, Rice whipped them by two touchdowns. It's hilarious to me that Coogfan thinks they're now suddenly better than the rest of the conference.

Sumlin will bolt pretty quick once the big boys start requesting his services and it might even happen sooner rather than later, since with Keenum leaving after this year they're going to have a huge experience issue at QB that's going to hurt them next season.

If the money is there, (which it might be) why hold off?

Ugh. How someone can go off the handle with personal insults (socially inept, deluded, universally non respected, sad, etc.) and call me bitter is quite possibly a hypocrite.

It's going to be interesting to see how long it takes for folks (esp. you Longhorns and Aggies ) to realize she's pregnant and has been for awhile.

Dave keeps spreading his seed wherever he goes.

Again, we don't want to be in the BIG 12........It's going to be the SEC in 3 years or so.

Seriously, this hasn't happened overnight. Do you people really think that Maggard quit without having this all lined up?

    Look at the recruiting.

Think about the attendance in the late 70's when we ruled the SWC. People will come. You combine our fans with bigtime teams that travel well and you have a recipe for 50 - 60,000 every game.

Remember that Houston is the #1 area for high school talent.

Coach Sumlin is the right man in the right place at the right time.

The disconnect between the athletic department and the prez's office is a thing of the past.
With everyone on the same page finally and with Houston being a seat of power, there is no way that UH wasn't going to eventually get ours.

Close your eyes and remember Danny Davis dropping back in the closing seconds of the Cotton Bowl and hitting Eric Herring for the win.........

Let it ALL wash over you...and be ready again, for our time is at hand.

    +1

That area is perfect for a new football stadium but UH needs to show a consistency of success or that new football stadium will go to waste...before UH started winning games, there weren't that much fans attending to begin with so i think they need to work on fan attendance before committing to a big project like that.

Hey texx, I know it is difficult for you to operate outside of your incredibly predictable posting patterns, but it doesn't hurt to admit that your conference mates are good once in a while, especially since UH being ranked and getting national attention does wonders for the conference. So give it a shot, we'd do the same for Rice.

As for Sumlin and Keenum, that is really premature to say. I expect Sumlin to be judicious when selecting his next job and Keenum to stay another year (unless he is projected as the top QB or Sumlin leaves).

But even so, winning so much that your coach and players start leaving is a good problem to have compared to the alternative.

UH has beaten one ranked opponent this season. Let's put tihngs in perspective here. I'll have additional respect for them if they take out Miss St on the road.

You fired the first shot, homie. Don't talk if you don't want the facts at hand used against you.

    LOL.

A program that has won ONE outright football conference championship in the past thirty seasons (and lost to an 8th or 9th place SEC team in a bowl game), averages about 20,000 fans per game, would take away recruits from other schools in the conference, and has finished in the top five twice in it's entire history is going to join the SEC.

OK, OK, I know...the other facilities and teams at UH are phenominal. Basketball? Hasn't been to the NCAA tournament since 1992. Hasn't won an NCAA tournament game since 1984. Basketball arena? DUMP. Baseball? Solid, but nothing spectacular. Hasn't made the CWS since 1967.

Oh, wait, your college fits the profile of most SEC schools: you're in a small to medium sized city where college athletics are the only game in town. Oops, that's not true, either.

Also, the SEC is going to increase to more than twelve teams? I highly doubt that will happen. Also, there is no way that they will go to an unbalanced number of teams in each division. Who else is going to join the SEC with UH? It would have to be a team in the eastern part of the southeast since UH would have to join the West, or is TCU going to join the SEC and push the two Alabama schools to the East? OK, find me two eastern schools to join the SEC.

lol that's because there is no card at all. UH beats one ranked opponent and all of a sudden they're talking about bringing their awesome program and their 30,000 seat stadium to the SEC. *chortle*

It is pretty ludicrous in the short term...

But in the long term, if Khator and Rhoades spiffy up the place... and a conference shift comes along... this will become prophetic.

Because there's no truth behind it and no reason for it to ever happen.

I'm not sure what's more laughable: UH in the SEC or the Big XII making an unprecedented move in major conference history and KICKING BAYLOR OUT to replace it with UH. I mean, seriously, can someone point to something similar in modern college athletics? A team literally being removed for a major conference and being replaced by a small conference team with solidly mediocre athletics? There's not a single reason that the Big XII schools would want this to happen.

WHY would UT, A&M, OU, OSU, and Tech want to invite UH into the conference and have to compete with a school in the middle of one of the most fertile recruiting areas in the nation? You guys do realize that these schools would have to agree to allow UH into the conference, right?

What would UH bring to the Big XII to negate the negative impact on recruiting for the other Big XII south teams?

At least with the SEC fantasy you can make some sort of argument that UH brings a big TV market to the conference. With the Big XII, Houston is already overrun with people that support the existing Big XII teams.

Instead of jabbing at the dreamers, you can talk about the real situations with people like me and blathersby. We'd love to hear your thoughts.

P.S. Baylor is the only private school in the Big 12, they aren't going anywhere, even if they suck donkey balls. They'd literally have to get the death penalty, and then they'd add SMU, TCU, or Rice.
