I always think its funny when people say Francis is the best player on the team and shortly thereafter say Mobley needs to work on his defense.

Shooting guards are designed to be selfish, hence the name "shooting" guard.

There are 6 guys in the league who if we had instead of Cuttino at the 2 we would be a better team this year. They are Kobe, Iverson, McGrady, Pierce, Carter and Ray Allen. I also agree Pierce might be better than Carter, I believe w/o question he is now better than Allen, or Mobley. You also get no argument from me that Mobley is better or equal to any of these above 6 players--even Ray Allen is a notch better.

However I think we would be worse off this year with ANYONE else in the league at the 2. This includes some very good players in their own right in Hamilton, Wells, Finley, Spree, Houston, Christie, Wally S, Kittles, Anderson, Hardaway, Miller, or Rose. Mobley is without question among the top of the 2nd tier SGs in the league. I am not saying he is neccesarily better than all those players, or that he would fit better on their teams (more many I do think he would though), but I do believe he is better for our team than any of those guys.

In sum, Mobley is going to be one of our better players and long term fixtures in the starting line-up. We are fortunate for this and two-thirds of the leagues teams would like to have a 2 guard of this quality on their team.
