    WOW!!!
Well, this was to be expected. You report some infomation that does not come to fruition and you get wacked. Understandable and deserved.

Okay, lets answer a few questions here.....

Sherlock thank you and to all the others (Roxran, Crash, Roxtexia, et. al. - don't mean to miss anyone) that didn't jam it down my throat. In vein with your response, you are correct, I was not being illusive this weekend. I have a serious business deal going down this week and I had to dedicate the weekend to drilling out the financials.

    So here we go....

    First and foremost - Clutch
I am sending you an email after I write this post. If you read this first, please read the email before responding. If you get the email first...well - okay, inherently obvious to look at this post as I will refer to same in the email (so why did I just type that ROCKET!!!, dugh!).

Through the years I have always seen you as a stand-up guy ( I continue to do so). I trust you will respond accordingly. Nuf said.

As to the content of your post......
    Just a couple of items...
Clutch, do you honestly believe that we did not have any "plan B" as CD said. I will say this as straight forward as I can (I by no means mean to be nasty, but a great movie quote states this best, so don't take offense). Senator Fred Thompson said this in Hunt for Red October (a great flick by the way), "Son, the Russians (Les ) don't take a dump without a plan!" I know this to be true. Through all his dealings he has always chased every option. He is an incredibly skilled and tough negotiator. I have never known him to be any other way.

Either you truely believe there was no "plan B" or, if we did have other options (as I said), you would believe that CD and T should publicly come out and say after extensive, difficult, arduous negotiations with Ming's agent, Shark's management, the CBA and the Chinese government, that we had all kinds of deals ready just in case the Chinese tried to screw us. Now THAT would be a beautiful start to a relationship!

Did I report what did not come to fruition?
    Yes.
    Was it wrong?
    Yes
Did I apologize to Doc Rocket?
Absolutely! He was right, I was wrong - end of story.

    BUT...

    Would I report it again?
    Yes

    To all,

I want to make this very clear. I have stated it several times and I think I must do so again, I will not get into it from a defensive standpoint or an argumentive battle with anyone. I believe in a friendly positive attitude. This is about having fun and talking about something near to all of our hearts (except NY and nugz fans). :D It is all good!:)

As stated above, Achebe is perfectly reasonable to question me as the information passed through by me did not come about. I would do the same as he.

    grumment,

Again, not stating this in a nasty tone, but....do not believe everything you read. That meeting wasn't exactly as reported. Imagine if you had spent an enormous amout of money to buy a professional team. It wins right off the bat. Now 7 years later you see that same asset decreasing in value on a daily basis. The proverbial - "First to Worst!" You have tried everything to bolster your asset. No marketing stratagy or additional investment seems to deliver. You know the issue is not with your Player People (personnel guys, coaches, trainers, etc.). They are the best in the business and enormously respected. You see that you are moving faster than other cellar dwellers back to respectability, but the finacials just don't seem to be coming around. Now all of a sudden you are given a gift! Another gift! You already have been given two (Francis and Griffin). This gift promises to deliver at least one if not more quality players to your team and virtually ensure success both winning and financial. You call an administrative personnel meeting to rally the troops that have been coasting in your eyes, because performance from a business standpoint, well, sucks! You tell them, We have finally turned the corner. This is the biggest sports story in the world. This guy is big news. One way or another we are back. Now get busy, before I go out and get a whole new group of marketing people.

Oh, this brings something else to mind. Someone mentioned that I may have a new found job with the team. No! For reasons above, as much as I respect Les, I would not work for him. At least not as an employee! Les, like most entrepreneurs, sees rank and file employees as interchangable. Besides, of the people I've known who have worked for the team, all say the same thing, "The pay stinks!"

All the above being said and I hope I did not hack anyone off in the process, I feel I must address several items here as I have seen something that greatly disturbs me via the posts from this weekend.

    First-
I am not real happy about the piling on effect that goes on on this site (Although I deserved it for the infomation I posted not happening-rightfully so!). ;) I have seen it many times. I choose to stay away from that unless someone gets nasty - then they deserve every bullet that comes their way (read: Troybaros here).
Otherwise, it just seems incredibly counterproductive and extremely negative to me.:(

    Second:mad:

One individual post has absolutely set me off. Normally, I would just walk away, but I found this so offensive that I must address this individual.

Who the hell do you think you are you sorry sob??? You don't even know me, yet you assasinate my character. You use the simple fact that I am courteous to my fellow posters and respond to their posts as some absurd relation to the validity of my posts. You then have the audacity to state that I am simply starting posts to say, and I quote, "Look at me, I have insider info." Which by the way, none of my threads or posts have even come close. In fact, I have done everything to the contrary to the point of sharing personal information as well as being as warm and open as I possibly can.

The real topper here is not only do you insult me by saying I lack sophistication (which is your opinion, which you are clearly entitled to), but then you have the nerve to call me a BRAGGART

This is way over the line. I have gone out of my way specifically not to be as such. I have purposefully not said I know so and so. I have not rubbed anyone's nose in it about who they know or whom I know! I would not presume to do so. It is rude! A concept, that you clearly do not seem to grasp as you are yourself!

Above all this, then you have the gall to inform me that I must answer to you through Clutch. Let me state this clearly back to you, "I don't give a good GD what you would like me to do!" (forgive me lord!)

rimrock you sir, are an ass!!!

    To all,

Please forgive the above I apologize for that - it needed to be addressed. You guys can pound on me, you can beat me, you can even call me a SOB, but I will not sit by while you assasinate my character.

Otherwise as I said before....It is all good!:D

I hope it is the same with ya'll.

Now back to you regularly scheduled program.

    Thanks.

    ROCKET!!!

And yes, I still have a hardon for Griffin, but now my wife is REALLY jealous!:D

    Hahahahaha Hehehehehe Hohohohoho!!!

    ROCKET!!!,

Glad you're back. Was hoping you were just busy and not that you'd been run off by the reactions.

I don't know if you're connected or not, and I wouldn't presume to guess. If you say you are, I'm inclined to take you at your word. As I said before, your attitude has been generally friendly albeit a little cocksure.

I think there are two reasons for the reactions:

One is that after initially saying that Doc was wrong, you didn't exactly back down all the way. You implied he'd gotten lucky or dodged a bullet because the stuff you were reporting fell through. Since you've been on the board for a while and hadn't posted inside info before, it was strange to see you posting it with such assurance and the post saying Doc got lucky or whatever was weird, since his credentials have been proven and yours haven't been yet. I hope that your private email to Clutch clears all that up. As I understand it, Clutch knows who Doc is and who he knows, which is why he's told us all that his info is real. If you're comfortable taking Clutch into your confidence as to what you heard and who you heard it from, I'd expect he'd come back to the board and give us his impression as to the validity. I think you know by now you can trust him not to squeal.

The other reason for the extreme reactions IMO has little to do with you. It has to do with the fact that senior members who are known for their skepticism took your word as gospel truth and, strangely, continued to do so after your scoop didn't come to pass.

The piling on you spoke of is an unfortunate characteristic of any board. Try not to take it personally.

    Best,

    Batman

    Well said, ROCKET!!!

    OF course there was a Plan B; there's always a Plan B.

This often seems like a place of little egos trying to stretch themselves a bit.

You are alright in my book. Sometimes family members fight and that is what I see here. Yup, that is how I see it. We are a family!

Rocket!!!, would you care to explain why you posted for a long time without acting like an "insider" and then you suddenly come up with all this "insider" information? You have not answered that question yet.

I think this is why some people were surprised. Plus, none of the things you have predicted have come true yet, so I think it is a natural reaction to doubt the validity of what you say.
