DearRock,
You may be right, but I know it will be MUCH harder to move MoT's contract than KT's contract.

Talentwise, it makes much more sense to move MoT and keep KT as a back-up for Griffin. Make no mistake, Griffen is our future starting PF!

Rocket!!!, by your response I am not sure which one you prefer talent wise. Is it that KT is more talented so we keep him as the back-up to protect against dropoff or that MoT is more talented and should not be a backup in this league? I am particular grateful for your take on things.

One of our key factors will be whether Francis is a great conductor. He will have a lot of talent to manage. I know he is scorer and can do alot on the court, but don't you think that he has not really shown that he is a great conductor/ manager, if you will?

That is my point exactly. The Rockets have assembled the necessary players to contend for a championship in a few years, but will the execution be there? Francis is the key.

He certainly has the ability, but will he subjugate his ego for the good of the team?

tga, that is a real sore point with me. We have to have Kidd type execution here. In fact I am sure Francis knows that. I hope!

ROCKET!!!, I really enjoy your posts and your enthusiasm for Eddie Griffin. I think he could be a really special player for us and I am really looking forward to his development.

In your post are you saying that Eddie is close to 7'0" tall now? Last year he was listed as 6'10" and 220. From the reports on this BB it seems he has put on around 10 lbs bringing him to 230. Are you saying that he has grown and is now taller that 6'10"? I, along with the others on the board would be very interested to see what his height is these days.

DearRock,
IMHO KT is an ideal back-up 4, but we have one solid starting 4 and another developing 4. The question of which I like is irrelevent. It is...Which is better suited to play while EG makes the transition?

After that question, of course, is the next one.... Which guy can we derive better value for at this point in time, if we make a trade?

My contention is only that Mo must prove his ability/health before he is a commodity once again. If we hold our cards until the trading deadline, his value may be such that he is dealt and not KT.

We have soooo may possibilities now it really is just silly!

We have legitimate tradeable commodities (from several different perspectives) anytime we want to use them. The only deal with KT is his contract. All I am saying about KT is that he is desired by many clubs because of his abilities at such a reasonable price.

Forrestt Gump, "That's all I have to say about that!"

ROTFLMAO.

This is cute. I noticed crash's quote and decided to read a bit of fiction for a while.

I might point out, that:
a) It's hilarious to see a self described insider after said insider posted a thousand odd times without any info, and then took the path I described ad nauseum earlier ("gee I don't know about Ming, how about player x"... then 5 minutes later, "sources say we're trading for player x!!!")

and
b) it's even cuter to see senior members make sure Rocket!!!'s royal penith is clean... when Rocket!!! has never nailed a deal. Actually Rocket!!!, why don't you read realgm for a little while, and tell us how Lamar Odom might be on the block? Here's another tidbit for you to recycle: Andre Miller might be dealt.

anyway... whatever keeps you guys busy. I should say, ROXTXIA, I expected more from you (or is it Roxran that I respect? :D).

Rocket,

What can we get for Achebe? I mean he has game and all, but his attitude seems to be lacking.

:)

Achebe,

How about this one: "The feeling is that we are closer to our plan (two deep at every position) than we hoped going into the draft" Wow! A plan to have a starter and a backup at every position. That is truly "inside basketball" type of insight.

ROCKET!!!,

I think it is interesting that you think Tito M. will definitely make the team and push for playing time, while Doc Rocket is not impressed with him. Which one of you has a better feel for the opinion of the Rocket's coaching staff about our 2nd round pick?

Thanks in advance for your opinion.

I have a better Shandon. His name is BYRON RUSSELL!

Hey Roc!!!, what do you think of his game? Do you see him fitting in with our club.

achebe is like a reformed alcoholic. He took the BBS too seriously for awhile -- backed away -- and now wants to criticize anyone who he thinks reminds him of himself.

Thanks, Rocket!!!... always enjoy your musings. I don't give a rat's ass who's right. Just read and enjoy. Dicker if you want, but there is no need to decimate anyone's reputation.

Deuce,
Sorry, about that - not intentional. Sometimes a few posts get pasted over by mistake.:)

Although Griffin has not been through his annual yet, my perception is that he has had a little growing spurt. He looks taller to me. It just may be the added incredible definition, but he does appear to be tall from my perspective.

All I know is at 6'-0" I look straight up at the guy. When I talk to him I generally try to do it while we are seated...let neck fatigue.:D

I'd like to add him to our team, I'd think he's a pretty good player....
