I just can't believe it. How can an almost an All-star have a nervous break down in just the first round? How is he going to face the future rounds then?
meh, won't be any future rounds this year for ak47 and the rest of the jazzholes, I can tell ya that much.
FIRST, there is NO REPORT ANYWHERE saying he is out. PERIOD! DO NOT REPORT SOMETHING UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FACTS!!! He simply got emotional during an interview and that has been reported all over the place. He did not have a nervous breakdown and he is not out of the game tonight or out of the series. Second, I find it INCREDIBLY ironic that so many of you are saying he needs to suck it up and commending Jerry Sloan on his candor and toughness when many of you did the EXACT OPPOSITE when it came to Vspan and JVG.
God forbid we have toughness in this league. I'm so bored with our feminized, therapy-dominated society. At least Kirilenko's Russian instead of yet another American turned p***y. Though maybe that's worse, as it shows that this is a global disease. Men becoming eunuchs. Next step in our evolution? All Kirilenko needs to do is man up. Calling that, and so much else, a mental health issue is a joke. I'm beginning to think Tom Cruise was right about the evils of shrinks.
No offense, but he simply reported what he had heard on TNT- the title is simply misleading. Also, maybe the ones who are telling AK-47 to "suck it up" are also the ones who said the same about V-Span? Craig Sager just reported on TNT that AK-47 is out, because he suffered a nervous breakdown from the pressure. It was a taped report, but Kenny and Charles both appeared to be shocked. I'm not seeing this reported anywhere else. What the hell is going on? Edit: My original note said 'out of the series', what I remember Sager saying was 'he's out', so that could mean something different.
in defense of the thread starter, i heard the same report on tnt last nite and they did make it sound like he was out and it was due to a nervous breakdown. the way they made it sound, he was indeed not going to be playing. sloan doesnt seem like the kind of guy who is going to give him a shoulder to cry on. if anything, he will bench him.
are you sure they didn't say breaking down (as in another way of saying cry) instead of nervous breakdown?
Oh ... not that I'm really defending AK over this. Hundreds of players have passed through Sloan's system and we've never heard of any of them breaking down and crying. AK needs to man up. But Sloan does have a rep for really being brutal as a coach, and in this particular situation, I don't feel AK has gotten his fair shake all season, especially for someone who was so dominant defensively last year that he was recording triple doubles with blocks. It just seems like they haven't handled him well at all.
Wow, this is just crazy...AK47 crying...There's no crying in basketball... Oh well, the Jazz will die a fast death...
John Amaechi will give you an earful about Sloan. Note, though, that he didn't mention this about our "hard-headed" coach, but about Sloan. And he did mention that AK-47 was one of his best friends on the team- maybe there's a connection. Then again, I live in Lubbock and have sat close to the bench at several Texas Tech games. God forbid if AK-47's coach was Bob Knight- you wouldn't believe some of the things he says to players that the fans can hear. Yet, he praises them equally as vehemently. So, who knows? Is it an effective way to coach today's athlete? D/K.
Jerry Sloan's brutal and overbearing pressure made John Amaechi gay, AK47 is next, book it. The signs are all there starting with that OBVIOUS Greenwich Village haircut, I've heard that he uses mascara sometimes and he's a perfect replica of 80's Boy George.
