Man ... talk about a stubborn coach. I can see why Jazz fans pile on Jerry Sloan. He sits AK on the bench and leaves Derek Fisher guarding T-Mac. And I've heard stories of how hard Sloan rides his players, but man, to make one of your players break down crying after a playoff game? It would be a travesty for this man to win COY. In spite of their record.
We were talking about that in another thread. Maybe that was him, since if he's reporting on AK, he should be in Houston. That'd be weird if he was wearing red to a Rocket game during an espn telecast.
Let's hope that isn't the case here. I see nothing here that can be labeled 'crazy.' Not yet. I mean, sure it's odd, and maybe he's being sensitive (though I don't want to downplay the issue) but it's not like he went butt naked in a bell tower or anything... dude got upset after being hounded by the media about something that he himself is having trouble answering. I hope he's fine, but I suspect he is. And worse, I'm guessing that "motivate me to do better" thing is a concern now. Regardless, expect them to come out in Game 2 with something to prove. Whether it's AK or Harpring. They are all acting (including AK) like they didn't get to show their best, and are eager to do so. Rockets need to make sure they show that they have more to offer also, and bring it. A dominating early start could, no offense or harm to AK, break their spirits completely and secure a win early.
but that's what today's coaches do, in addition to coaching the basketball, they need to be the baby sitter, the psychiatrist, the motivational speaker.
Yeah I caught a glimpse of him. That guy is a character. Wasn't sure it was him at first, I had to rewind it.
His wife gives him a pass. He could sleep with one other girl a year. They say it helps their relationship.
He only played 16 mins in game 1. He made only 400 attempts in about 70 games the whole season. Pitiful guy! It reminded me of the times when he's the No 1 of the Utah Jazz. I hope he does come back and play.
Unlike some other guys that b**** about playing time AK was actually crying and getting emotional. That is more on the line that the guy has the heart and desire to be out there and play. I don't know what happened to him this year becuase he totally lost who he used to be. I had him on my fantasy team and know he didn't do sqaut this year. Every year he was going crazy filling up the stat sheets in all categories and now he is being benched. From being a guy that they were building around to a guy getting only 17 minutes is kind of hard to take. I think the way he handled it is more emotional desire to be on the court, than being a baby about playing time.
This thread is very misleading. Kirilenko's status for the game isn't questioned. It was just reported that he was unhappy with his role. Get your facts straight before posting false info.
As much as I feel that Kirilenko is not being utilized properly, when he was, the team was nowhere near as good as they are now. The team is better this way, that's the cold hard fact of it.
hahaha! I'm pretty sure that Sloan does not want any part of bottom pushing. Especially when it comes to Andrei Kirilenko. Ugh, the mere thought of it makes me cringe.
