Not a good look for a guy with an alcohol problem.

That said, was he drunk in a hotel lobby effectively? I mean they've got bars in those things. I think the arrest should be for the altercation if anything. Can you get arrested for being drunk in a bar for instance?

No it does not, leave them out of it.

It is very hard to get arrested in a hotel you are staying in.

This answer is no, on its own. Public Intoxication requires more than being drunk. You must also be disorderly to others or posing a safety hazard for yourself. That said, you can get this charge while in a bar.

Keep in mind this law is also referred to "Drunk and Disorderly". The Public aspect is best summed-up by asking the question: Is a stranger allowed in the same space. If so, you can bother them while they are exercising their rights to be in a public place...whether it's a bar or not.

Well it's not a Max Kellerman thread, or a freaking First Things First thread. Those threads reach 100 replies as soon as they're posted

It is so sad to hear about this. I hope and pray that he will get the help and support that he needs to make a complete recovery to good health.
