If you show up hungover or miss mandatory meetings at work or sandbag it during half of your workday, are you expected to get a pass because you're a young man and should enjoy yourself in your personal time despite the fact that it may be seriously impacting your performance at work? Further, should you get an additional pass because honestly, you're pretty good at what you do and you make a lot of money, so normal people can't possibly relate to you in any perceivable way and therefore cannot hold you accountable for what you do?

Harden needs to grow up. At 26 most of the world has faced reality and has adjusted to the fact that very little in this world can be taken for granted.

I have a lot of issues with Harden.

I don't really have an issue with him doing anything after games, so long as we don't have a game the next day.

My criticisms of Harden will remain related to his play on the court and relationships with members of the organization off the court.

I'm glad he's back in the strip clubs, that's when he plays best.

Ya, fair point, didn't think about that. Despite all of that though, I do not see harden paying more attention to the details of his preparation the way a Lebron would, which is an extremely high standard, but one that he needs to strive for

Do you have proof that Harden has done this?

Just the whisperings that he doesn't put any effort into practice, as well as thinly veiled statements from JBB. Just saying that the guy has a habit of partying late into the night before important playoff games and it's not something to be taken lightly. It affects your on court performance.

So the answer to my question is no then. You have no proof of anything you say but somehow that doesn't stop you from speaking it like it's the truth. What if I say I heard "whisperings" that you were a child molester? Is it OK if we create a thread about that and speak as if its the truth even though we have no proof at all? As a matter of fact I don't know you personally one bit but what if just started calling you things I have no proof of you being just because I think you are a lazy poster. Would you be OK with that?

Terry and Thornton both skipped couple games or more last year and this year because they were having their new babies.

    Now using your logic,

really, you are a pro athlete and can not plan your time to have babies in the offseason?

Show me any threads that any Rockets fans upset about it at all?

Look, Harden sucks pretty bad this year so far. But going to strip club is not the reason for that, not at all.

People are just trying to stay away from the root issue - which Harden actually not that type of player that can lead a team to a championship and hence fans are just having unreal expectation, and some even keep using the "strip club" excuse for his sorry performance and "hope" sometime he will mature and really turn into a "real superstar".

did harden have a new baby? if yes, i am not aware.

no one is saying going to the clubs is the reason he's regressed. if i am mistaken, pls show me a post in this thread.

ppls are merely saying it aint the right thing to do for a pro baller in b/w games. and i agree.

We kind of have to put it in perspective. We might have handled a lot —getting fired, losing business deals, barely making enough to pay rent while trying to get through college—but most of these guys haven't experienced anything as adults, other than a privileged lifestyle. 26, single (let's be real) millionaire. Think how you would act. We can't compare our professional career experiences to theirs.

if you know anything about the nba you would know that players go out all the time in different cities during the season whether you agree with it or not

So someone having a baby to miss couple games is OK, while Harden going to strip club after a game and after midnight now will be a problem?

What about instead going to a strip club, he went to a gay bar and having sex party there? or visiting hospital? Giving meals to the homeless? Now that will be much better?

What is your judgement on this? based on his action that can affect his performance on the floor? Well if that's the case, then ALL of above could have negative impacts.

But of course everyone will not value those actions the same, because actually people are using their own personal value to judge him and his action and just using the "affecting his performance" on the floor as an excuse.

I don't think Harden is a great player, nor do I believe he can lead the Rox to a championship, and I also believe his performance this year is horrible overall (comparing to expectations).

But I do not give a fork about this whole strip club crap at all.

This is the land of the free, as long as its legal and his contract does not preventing him to do so, its his rights to do it.

It's a bit more nuanced than that. Which players and how often?

Do you think married players with children go out clubbing often? Maybe? I don't really know.
