First it was the homosexuals, then the Asians and now fat people are complaining about discrimination too. It's almost as if these people think they deserve the same media treatment as the black and Jewish communities.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Sex/race/sexuality is all natural so those shouldn't be made fun of, but cmon. People are fat because they made themselves fat
They make fun of his weight all the time. He doens't go around asking for an apology...why? Because he knows it is a joke! He doesn't talk down on players, he is paid for be entertaining and voice his opinion.
The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance. I accept fat people. I accept that they're people, and I accept that they're fat. Mission Accomplished. Calling fat people fat isn't discrimination, it's description. Calling black people black isn't discrimination, it's description. Not hiring a black person because their skin is darker than yours is discrimination. Not hiring a fat person because they can't fit behind the desk they'd need to work at isn't discrimination, it's practical. We live in a PC country, but jokes are jokes, and there are limits to the amount of consideration you can honestly expect. Then again, I don't expect morbidly obese people to understand the idea of limits. I grew up in SA. Charles ain't lying.
This is stupid. It's totally a decision. Sometimes a very delicious decision. Knowing there's a National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance may be all the motivation I need to get back to the gym and make sure they never try to come to my "rescue"
Even if you accept the premise that being overweight is a conscious choice, uninfluenced by nature or nurture, when did it become acceptable to belittle and make fun of people?
umm since comedy's inception making fun of people has been a staple in comedy for a long time. shows like tosh.0 and family guy are way more offensive than what barkley says.
I never referred to any type of addiction acceptance. I am only referring to you saying people are overweight by choice. Drug addicts are addicts by choice. Sure, people put drugs into their body by choice in the beginning. Sure people put unhealthy foods into their bodies in the beginning. After the beginning comes the addiction, and Addiction is a difficult process to overcome for anyone. They do not choose to stay addicted. It is something that will stay with that person all of their lives and never leave their mind. Not once. Something they must overcome everyday to become healthy again. A constant reminder in the back of their brain always testing, always trying, always asking to come out. All of these addicts, be it an overweight/obese person that is eating themselves to death from Mcdonalds or Taco Bell or an addict with his or her choice of drug. These people are not choosing to stay the way they are. They are dying to try to overcome it.
drugs are proven to be addictive and everybody knows that before they ever try drugs. so if they become addicted that's on them and nobody else but them. if someone told me not to drink bleach and tells me the consequences of it and i still do it then whatever happens after that is on me. most overweight people are just lazy. it isn't just "addiction" they know what they have to do, they are just unwilling to do it. i get it, it is much easier to sit on your ass all day eating cheetos and chugging mountain dew than getting up and putting work in the gym.
