Yao can possibly shoulder the burden against San Antonio.
Yao CANNOT by himself shoulder the burden against Phoenix. We'll need other scorers to step up.

Kobe played 38 mins, they still lost so badly! This is a perfect example for how bad Kobe is.

My answer is Yao can. After TMac left the court, the team seems play better and almost win the game. We just don't have talent player except Yao and TMac. Hope Francis can recover to his 80% of his best, and then we are still top team without TMac. Sometimes, Tmac is like a cancer of the team.

our defense def. picked it up a notch as the lakers only scored like 28-30 pts. offensively, we still stunk it up.

    NO he can't!!
Without our only playmaker, Yao will try to be the playmaker and the team will become average.
Without a playmaker Point Guard who can shoot and score when needed to we are relying on Tracy Mc Grady and if he is unable to play, then based on the last game we could be up the creek without a paddle.
Morey made a huge mistake with James, Alston, Francis and Head thinking these almost has beens could be the one person that we are short of.
Some good might come of this though! Scola, Landry and AB might get a chance to learn the Nba Game with some serious coaching and effective playing time.
Looks like , in my opinion that Morey is going to have to think again and forget all the advice CD gave him.
Impressed with the play of Chuck and Bonzi

NO, until he learn to slam it home instead of missing easy layups underneath the basket. Common, when your team need to you to step up for not just scoring but motivation as a leader, you got to get fired up and send strong message to opponent. Yao is the complete opposite. He's rather pass the ball outside instead of pounding it when they need him the most. Sorry but we won't win with him as the main guy. . FREE SF3!!!!

In fact, even Tmac was ok, we might still lose most of next 3,4 games. This is a good opportunity for our team. For Yao, it can train his leadship, for other players, they can get more play time, for coach A, it can help him to observe bench players.

    Be positive!

YES if Wells can keep up his level of playing, and Francis can step right in, otherwise, NO.

Why people try to find excuse for Yao's missing FT? At NBA level, you don't miss FT because of fatigue. It's just an example of lack of concentration.

Do any of James fans still believe he should start as our PG? The guy is a knucklehead, he couldn't dribble with his head up when the defense put slight pressure on him. He is useless if he cannot make his shot, sadly that will be quite often for a streaky shooter.

if our role players make 50% of the jump shots they will get, we have a chance.

b/c w/o tmac, our offense is simply either yao shoot or a bunch of 3pt shots.

that's why bonzi is key. he's the only one now who can attack and get some easy buckets

you can blame fatigue on your jumpshots b/c u can see it hits the front rim or if you fail to get back on transition or things like that.

yao missed fts: in and outs, the back of the rim... never the front => not fatigue. he just missed.

people miss fts u do know that right? that's why nobody is shooting 100%

i'm saying we can win if the role players make 50% of their jumpers, esp. 3s. that's optimistic. hell we win every game if that happens.

It would also help if Mike James can drive to the basket. For some reason he hasn't been doing it this year.

I think we can beat SA without McGrady, but it will be near impossible to beat Phoenix since they will double Yao off the ball the entire night. Dallas will be hard but he might be back by then.
