Yao made some crucial FTs too, although he missed some.

Lakers lost to Spurs badly yesterday, I don't think Kobe played big minutes in that game.

You're writing all the games off as losses, first of all. Second of all you're ready to deflect any credit Yao might get and spread it to others instead. Basically if we lose, you'll trash Yao. If we win, it's Bonzi/James/Battier who carried us to the win.

You are really showing your true colors. I thought you would hide it better.

um, it's not just me, but 99% of this board dude so why are u singling me out? but oh yea, YOH.

i just mentioned bonzi as the best player in the 2nd half. when did i mention james/battier. and 99% of this board would say bonzi was our best player in the 2nd half.

and please, talk about something other than yao. this is the rockets board. like bonzi's great play for instance

id be much more comfortable if t-mac was in instead of yao, b/c i dont think yao can carry us. we need to rely on bonzi and mike james to play well for us to win.

What is this thread about? Oh maybe it's a discussion of whether Yao can shoulder the load? Why shouldn't I be talking about Yao?

You're writing the games off as losses, proclaiming Yao incapable of carrying the team, and crediting our comeback tonight to Bonzi, when Yao made a huge contribution even when playing poorly. You are showing your true colors.

it's amazing when a lot of peeps on here praise bonzi the most after the game, say we will struggle through this stretch, and u just call me out.

i must be on your nerve :D

Smiting, I respect all your support of Yao, but I don't think Doubleh is a Yao hater. He maybe a huge tmac fan, but I don't think he dislikes yao at all. HOWEVER, rofflesaurus is a infamous YOH, i think you should just direct all your flames against the likes of him.

chill YOF this is a rockets board and we're allowed to say what we think about the team. i dont think yao can carry us like t-mac can. that should be obvious to anyone...so we need to rely on bonzi and james for huge contributions these next few games.

Do you know how bad Duncan was yesterday?

Actually, Lakers' post defense is very good. They also defended Stoudemire efficiently. Their 3pt defense is not good. But, unfortunately, we could not make those 3pts today.

it's not that yao can't, but he's limited in what he can do. if teams front/double him (which will happen even more w/o tmac), what can he do? shoot Js at the high post, pass out to shooters who can't shoot...?

w/ tmac, we can run a VARIETY of plays even if he's doubled. therefore, it's easier for tmac to carry this team.

What would you do if we win in SA and Yao dominates Tim again?

Don't blame me if I repeatedly point out to you that you were wrong.

You make a great point about Bonzi and James. I would include Battier too. McGrady didn't carry the team alone last year. Mutombo and Juwon were huge for the team. In Yao's case the guards like the bigs did for McGrady need to step up.

Actually, I think this benefit the team in long run. With Tmac out, other players are forced to step up besides Yao and hopefully, we can discover another viable 3rd scorer that we can count on, as well as getting the team to play more cohesively (not saying they're not good teammates)

Yao has to step up first and foremost then the guards can follow
