How did it work out in Orlando? Did T-mac take his team to the second round?
If this Rockets team goes to the second round, it's not because of T-mac, it is because of T-mac AND Yao.

Its actually because both of them aren't being coached by that excuse for a coach named Doc Rivers.

Who cares? We have just won an intense playoff game and on our way of getting out of the first round the first time in years. Can you just pretend to be a fan of the Houston Rockets team for a few hours instead of worrying about an individual player?

If you guys saw the Interview during the game, i think he went a little over the top...

Shane Battier, Luther Head, i set them all up, without me they are nothing.

Don't know if those were his exact same words but maybe he could of worded it better.

BUT...all those players gray mentioned, like bird and jordan, were undisputed leaders...there as no chance of them being confused with a teammate for being the leader...so obviously they didnt have to declare it

I'd call it swagger or confidence, but not arrogance.

I am pretty sure JVG and coaching staff want him to be cocky and the leader of the team. He is just that good.

    It's because Tmac+Yao+JVG+role players.

You are missing the point here.

I was aware of that too. But sadly that is the truth, and that is why I want a Deron Williams on this team so badly. Tmac can be cocky all day long and I don't have a problem with that, but to go all the way, I am not sure if Alston is gonna cut it.

I was shocked when he said that. I don't know what good does it make that he puts his teammates down while pushing himself up. Maybe this 20-12 record while Yao was out is getting into his head.

i cant say i apprieciate that a lot.
it's nice that people know it's his team,
that doesnt mean he should keep saying that.

Good that Yao and others dont mind that.

I think he said they wouldn't get all those open looks if it weren't for him. He said he makes them better, or something like that. Yeah, he probably still could have chosen his words more wisely.

I think TMAC needs to feel that way, and to say those things, to embody his potential. He needs to feel it. He is good under pressure, we have all seen this. JVG has said as much in the past that TMAC needs more talk while he doesn't worry about Yao.

So... while I think the hubris is somewhat disarming, if that is what it takes for TMAC to be at his best, then let him say it without complaining. It's not like the things he is saying aren't at least somewhat true... it's just hard for me not to cringe hearing some of the statements like "When Battier gets his open three's, who gave it to him "ME!"

While I don't know that I like hearing such things, whatever works, you know? Yao on the other hand, doesn't seem to want or need to feel that way. I hope it never bothers him, because they are a lesser team without either one of them.

When Hakeem was here, he was never really the "leader" as he was very quiet and reserved for the most part as a teammate, and I also think the language/culture barrier kept him from being the team captain or "leader", other than by super example. But he never felt like he wasn't the man. I see some parallels to Yao in that way sometimes... is it just me?

What T-Mac is showing is leadership and confidence............. NOT Arrogance.
