Let's wait till LeBron's career is almost over before you ask the question.

All of these entitled players like Kobe, TMac, Lebron, KG, etc would have greatly benefited from going to school even for one year. It would have brought them down to earth.

Not sure either of them is a huge disappointment in my eyes.

TMac was a sensational talent, but I dont recall him being favored very often in the first round. Quite frankly, even had the Rockets gotten past some of those first round matchups, they would have probably lost in the second round- they had a number of weaknesses that were more readily covered up in the regular season through hard work and team play which got exposed every year in the playoffs.

Lebron is much more talented than McGrady ever was and his playoff resume reflects that. Lebron regularly advanced in the playoffs with bad Cavaliers teams, even making it to the finals one season. Last year was his first season in Miami and they lost in the finals again.

Neither player has really underperformed; TMac's probably been more clutch, particularly in the playoffs, but its not as if Lebron hasnt ever produced late in games.

Both players do remind me of each other in one way: I think its fair to argue that both received a lot of criticism based not on their play, but off-court actions and statements.

I think most reasonable people realize that the amount of criticism levied against each isnt entirely fair, and that they were hardly the sole (or even largest) reason for their career shortcomings, but whatever sympathy might be gained through such a reality is regularly lost whenever they open their mouths and make statements to the media. In this regard, I can say T-Mac's been a little more disappointing, because he continues to make remarkably arrogant comments to the media and creates team dissension despite the marked drop off in talent.

Obviously LeBron achieves more, but he's also more overrated.
