I actually had the same idea as you except that my trade does not involve scola. It was something like T-Mac for Gordon and Nocioni.
This actually wouldn't be a terrible trade if you think about it. Yao needs a big, bruising power forward next to him (his Otis Thorpe), thats where Milsap can excel. Yao would also benefit from a shot blocker, thats where Kirelenko has shown he can excel. Plus we need good mid range to 3 point shooters, thats where Harpring and Giricek can produce. They both can also shoot on the move and both know how to cut and would fit good in Adelman's offense. Now the bad part, McGrady, Boozer, and D. Williams would be another killer team the Rockets would have to face in the west for long time. The main thing the Jazz needed was a finisher. WIlliams is a point guard and not the best of jumpshooters out there. Boozer is a post player, but he cant create for anybody, but Tmac can create for himself and for others and he can hit tough shots. That team is deep enough and disciplined enough to where they could withstand an injury to Tmac. Plus Tmac will get to play the small forward there, because Brewer is a somewhat small and athletic shooting guard. I would think this trade would bring Utah closer to championship instead of Houston. I think the Rockets would have a better flow to the offense and have a more balanced attack with this trade, but Utah would join San Antonio, Dallas, and Pheonix in the top tier of the Western Conference. This trade could work, only because we have another superstar to rely on. Lets just wait and see what happens.
A trade with the Bulls would make more sense to me, because we would trade Tmac to a non championship contending team in the East where they won't hurt us at all. If the Rockets can get Luol Deng, Chris Duhon, and Andres Nocioni in return with a draft pick or 2 for Tmac, MJ, and C. Hayes, that would be a decent trade IMO. Deng is a long, slashing, mid range forward who can play defense and can rebound. Andres Nocioni is a former teamate of Luis Scola in Argentina, who plays hard nosed basketball and can play either forward spot and can shoot the 3 pointer. He also attacks the rim. Chris Duhon is a small, but strong combo guard who can handle the ball if called upon. He can also shoot the 3 and attacks more than any of our guards do and can play decent on the ball defense. Tmac would probably upgrade the Bulls in the Eastern Conference, but I think this trade would benefit both teams. Bulls get a go to guy and the Rockets get the right pieces for a balanced offense. The reason why this trade would not work is because the Bulls are REALLY high on Luol Deng. They wouldn't put him in a deal for Kobe or Gasol, so I'm not sure if they'd put him in a deal for Tmac. Since the Rockets are offering more, maybe it might work. Maybe the Rockets put Battier in the deal as well and we keep Chuck Hayes instead. Either one would fit great in Skile's defensive oriented system. The Utah deal would give the Rockets more pieces, but would hurt us because Tmac would stay in the west and would make the Jazz instant contenders with Boozer and Williams. But the Chicago deal gives us a player who is close to being an All Star (Deng) and good role players (Nocioni and Duhon) and Tmac would be in the East on a middle tier team.
Are you out of YOUR mind!!!??? What in the world has Andre Miller done? He was decent in Denver with an up and down team, but he cant shoot outside jumpers and he cannot play defense. Plus he needs the ball to be effective, which does not fit in Adelman's system. We need players that can play off the ball. Utah's offense is always about moving without the ball similar to Adelman's system, so it might work.
Plus Philly would not trade for Bonzi Wells and MJ. The last thing we need is another player who dribbles the clock out.
t-mac for AK? That's nuts! Why not just trade t-mac for any second tier player stugglig with their current team. You guys have really turned on t-mac in the space of two weeks.
Chicago loves Deng, so I don't think he'll be leaving soon. Players Chicago could give up for Tmac + others are: Ben Gordon Tyrus Thomas (Maybe) Thabo Sefolosha Andres Nocioni Chris Duhon Ben Wallace Joe Smith I would do a Gordon + Nocioni + Joe Smith + Duhon + Sefolosha for Tmac + Snyder + Head + Novak.
If Tmac gets hurt, they still have their Big 3 from last year, Boozer, Williams, and Okur. Boozer and Williams can hold their own for a few games of the season without Tmac, especially with Sloan as their coach. He won't let them use injuries as an exuse the way JVG did last year when Yao went down with the injury. I think Sloan would want this trade in a heartbeat.

He won't let them use injuries as an exuse the way JVG did last year when Yao went down with the injury. I think Sloan would want this trade in a heartbeat, especially after the amount of times Tmac went for 40+ points against them in his career and his performaces at home in the Playoffs last year against the Jazz. 22 points in the 2nd half of game 1, 26 points and 16 assists in Game 5, and 29 points and 13 assists in Game 7. I know Tmac is hurt a lot and doesn't help Adelman's offense, but if you give him the ball and let him create, he is a special player. I agree with most that its time to trade him, but we will be trading away one of the most skilled players the Rockets have ever had, only behind Hakeem in my opinion. But his fire and passion does not match his talent level, thats the one thing I wish Tmac had. What Yao lacks in skill, he makes up for in heart, effort, and passion. He is pretty damn close to that category with the likes of Hakeem, Moses Malone, and Clyde on that list. All of those players were hungry for a title and their will drove us to the finals and in the case of Hakeem and Clyde to championships. Tmac's lack of passion will not get us to that level. Thats the sad truth.
Andre Miller is shooting 49% ?? and unlike Alston he knows his limits with in the offense. He is a playmaker first type point guard who will attack the basket alot more than Alston and push the tempo. Houston lacks Attackers who can create contact and Andre Miller is perfect. The problem with Houston is McGrady is the only playmaker but the problem is he slowes the game down. The playmaker is supposed to push the tempo and attack. Look at Parker. Look at Nash. This is what Andre brings. You dont want your playmaker slowing the game down. When your able to score in transition then it makes playing defense so much easier.
You make good points, but Philly would not give up Andre Miller for Mike James and Bonzi Wells. Plus he is 32 years old I believe, he doens't have many good years left in him. And he is not a good athlete to begin with, so that could be a factor.
I'm not going to read everybody' posts. But if we traded T-Mac to Utah. It would only help them. A team with Boozer, Deron Williams and T-Mac would be deadly.
The best trade for McGrady go in order. First thing is first. Houston would need to trade for a playmaker before they trade Tracy. So .... Battier/Head/Snyder/James to Philly for A.Miller/Korver Then ... T-Mac to Memphis for Gasol, M.Miller, Navarro Then trade T-Mac why because you trade him to a divisonal rival who happens to play San Antonio, Dallas, New Orleans more often then he faces Houston. This makes alot of sense. Last trade Bonzi/Francis/Hayes 1st rounder to L.A for Maggette. Francis unites with Mobley, since they are in rebuild mode they can use Bonzi expiring to help resign Brand or atleast try too. Yao/Scola/Mutombo Gasol/Landry Maggette/Korver/Novak Miller/Navarro Miller/Alston/Brooks That is a solid core who can attack and score in transition. This team would lead the league in points in the paint and 3pt%. The game would speed up big time. Defensively they would be better because of a better Offense.
That isn't what he is saying. This would be a terrible trade on the Rockets part. We should at least get Boozer or Williams if we trade Tracy
This is a decent trade proposal, but there is no one we get who can create their own shot as well as McGrady could. That is really the only problem I see
