Brooks is producing more then McGrady for the money slump or not, Tmac injured or not.

And will people stop saying Tmac led? His stats barely changed during that streak. Do you know whose did? Scolandry. There shots percantage, number of shots taken increased. If Tmac so called is the reason we got 22 then why was he still the 2nd leading scorer behind Yao who was freaking out? Our bench is a bigger reason for that 22 win streak not Tmac. Oh and hey the bench is a big big reason to our current W/L record....fancy that. Even his assist werent all that great an improvement. The only thing I credit him is being able to draw the doubles. Every single one of his shooting stats were at the lowest it has ever been that year (FG, FT, 3pt) but he LED them? His name as Tracy McGrady gets too much recognition. Our duo in PF's was the biggest uprising and as rookies thats just immaculate. Do you wanna know what I love? I love the fact that we dont need Tracy right now (I admit we will need him in the PO's, him and Artest) but right now while we dont need him (what we do need him is healing to as close to 100 percent instead of 80 percent) I laugh that he says he is ready. I bet you he isnt liking that we as a team are doing so surprisingly well (without him) with 2 of the big three down and now he wants that attn.

And who the hell cares if Brooks is in a slump right now, what does he have to prove that Tmac doesnt have to prove twice over. Truth is Brooks is a proven shooter and can be a better shooter then Tmac from anywhere (FT.Fg.3) and with a couple more years a better playmaker with his drive and dish. He will command attn once he gets more adapted to the NBA. You talk of him as if he was a veteran. Not only is he still a rookie in my eyes but he barely has a full season behind him. He didnt play the whole season last year (2/3 of it ave 10 min...wow).

Wow that makes me realize even how much I get mad at RA, he has done wonders for these sophmore players.

Man you guys with your Tmac is everything for this team and we cant survive without him attitude make me wanna scream. ahhh?

I think that pretty much sums it up.

I'm on the record saying he'll end up disappointing the masses again just like I'm on the record about Alston returning to his norm. I hope I'm wrong in both cases. My heart wants them to succeed. My mind tells me they won't.

I also predicted Luther Head would be a massive bust when the majority of people were still on his bandwagon. Go search for threads about Head from when I first joined. You'll find me going against the grain on that one and look how that situation worked out. I had a number of conversations where I was outnumbered like 20 to 1 by people thinking Head was awesome and that he would be a long-term fixture in this organization.

not that it has anything to do with this and not even realistic but everytime I play an Association mode in NBA2k9 and trade away Luther he always ends up doing good. By the time I hit 2k19 he was in the all star game, I was like whoa.

    To Brooksball:

You are being an incredible blowhard in this thread. Defining sports success, or being fan only terms of winning championships is silly and unsustainable to mental health. The incessant denigration of the Rockets, McGrady and Alston is nothing new for you, or a lot of people, but it's incredibly boring. Surely you must be completely tired of typing the same things over and over again. We get it: you don't like the Rockets.

    To BMoney:

A repost from the previous page:

So are you on a mission to change the behavior of sports fans across the world? A behavior that has been consistent since the day the first sport was every played? Not all sports fans imitate cheerleaders. Not all fans could pass as choir boys. The majority of fans are, and always will be, highly emotional, critical and passionate men. Most sports are a civilized form of war. A place to take out aggression and not worry about being polite. CFs is just a microcosm of the world of sports. If that's not your thing, go watch chess. You would be eaten alive if you went to sporting events in a place like Philly.

I should save that and use it more often. ;)

I could see BMoney at an Eagles game telling a fan to "relax, stay positive... it's just football" after which a cold beer is poured on his head.

Nobody has yet to explain why they believe Grady has always been committed to winning a championship like his assistant wrote for him on his blog. :D

wow Brooksball. you just hate the guy.

with that kind of hatred, nothing we could say would ever change your mind.

i can reverse what gta said and say that whatever we/tmac say wont change your (haters) minds. that he can do no right in your eyes. that you think Mcgrady quit on the team in Toronto when he said that he thought he played hard only to be surprised and admit that he sucked in that game.

way to go man. i hope you can still watch the rockets games because im sure Tmac would be there taunting you with every scored basket, assist, rebound and good play when he comes back healthy and playing good basketball.

and i just pray to God that whatever injuries that Tmac has had in his career, that Brooks wont undergo even half of those because he wont be able to take the kind of hatred fans like you threw at tmac. coz if AB does, you'll all be alone in that bandwagon.

I was a Rockets fan before Brooks and I'll be one after he's gone. I just happened to join this site at the time that Brooks was playing in his first Summer League. I liked what I saw so I created this ID. That's the entire story behind my nick. I was also praying to the basketball gods that we find somebody better than Alston to take over. If Brooks ends up sucking, I'll dog him plenty. Adelman had a big say in drafting him. I won't give up on the kid this early.

And don't worry so much about what I think. It makes you seem less than confident in your own opinion of old Grady.

I find that T-mac is just going to be criticized no matter what.

If he gets big numbers, he's too selfish. If he passes and plays in within the offense and makes his teammates better - then it's why is he only the second leading scorer being paid all that money?

    Whatever.

I find that no matter how often his body breaks down or how often he dogs it around the basketball court, his blind supporters will never stop giving up on him and criticizing those who don't happen to share the same sentiment.

I also find this situation becoming more and more like the Francis one. No matter how badly he plays or how much time he misses, they won't let go until he gets yanked away from them like a favorite blanky from a 4-year-old.

Sure, he hasn't reached Francis' status yet but that may not be as far away as some people think. And if we get to that point, some people still won't let go.

McGrady just wasn't blessed with a body built for 10+ years in this league.

    Whatever.

I lost faith in Tmac long ago, but BrooksBall making predictions is restoring it. He doesn't just have a classic Clutchfans moment, he has his own damn legendary thread. It's like listening to Charles Barkley; no matter how dead wrong he is he thinks he's got credibility.

Brooks, it's easy to say you were barely wrong when at the time you were annoyingly sure that you were right. We still call that wrong. I'm sure Barkley was telling himself that he was barely wrong about Yao not scoring 30. It didn't make him look any more dignified when he was kissing Kenny's ass.

I nailed it when it came to Luther Head. ;)

Predicting that the Rockets wouldn't make the playoffs when they were supposed to be a contender and more than half of the teams in the league make the playoffs was bold and I was wrong. I really did believe it at the time, too. I won't deny that.

And I don't consider my own opinions on basketball to be anything more than my opinions. Sure, I believe what I'm saying or I wouldn't say it but it's not like I get paid to analyze the sport. I'm no expert. Not even close.

I love this caption from a picture on Chron.com:

Tracy McGrady hasn't said when he'll be ready to return to playing, but he did survive a hard practice.

We're approaching what, a year since his surgery? The same surgery Kobe got around the same time of the year right before the season where he won his first scoring title and only missed 5 games?

    Clap. Clap. Clap.

43 games into the season, old Grady is able to survive a hard practice.

    Clap. Clap. Clap.

Grady is on his last leg, literally. I hope Morey trades him. We aren't likely players in 2010 so I wouldn't worry about that factor.
