And I understand that. Denial can be effective. I used to try to do it with Grady as well. It's like my stance on Alston right now while he's shooting well. After being in the league for almost 10 years and shooting sub-40% for his career, there is almost no chance that he maintains this level of play. The same thing can be said with Grady's situation. He'll tease you now and then but ultimately, he is what he is and it's too late to change it. No matter what happens, Grady won't be a Rocket for longer than the next 16 months or so. He may be gone sooner. Not only am I confident the Rockets won't even think about re-signing him, I'm pretty confident that Grady won't even want to play after this contract expires. He's broken down mentally and physically and his only motivation right now is to not embarrass himself for being so grossly overpaid. He's just trying to minimize the ridicule he receives over the short remainder of his disappointing career.
He's never going to be close to physically healthy again. He hasn't been close to good health since joining the Rockets. I understand that all players have physical issues. It's a whole different level with Grady though. And that's not even touching on his persistent mental weaknesses.

I find there's no point debating with McGrady apologists. McGrady can do no wrong in their eyes. McGrady clearly quit on the team in the Toronto game. If that's tolerable, everything else McGrady does would be nothing short of wonder to them.
