I think we're a better team without Tracy, but I hope he gets serious about conditioning his knee and comes back for some other team.

You know the Yao fans have been quiet lately.
I think they know its pointless arguing with the BMFs.

But back in the day when their leader Pryuen was around, it was a battle royale with people with bad grammar vs people with bad grammar
both throwing blame on each other and neither knowing anything about the Rockets

It is ONE Of the options, Tmac CERTAINLY has a say in it....there are multiple ways to treat it.

I have been talking with an orhapeadic surgeon friend of mine, and he says there are multiple options on cases like TMacs.

When do doctors ever say a player has to get micro-fracture surgery? Players will play through it, but if they aren't helping their team in the present they need to start looking at their future.

The Rockets have said that surgery was always a last option for McGrady. Understandably, considering he's an older player, he's nearing the end of his contract, the Rockets want to be contenders this year, and it's unclear how he'll come back from it. What's the alternative? That he plays through it, bear the pain, and hopefully he can contribute. I don't think anyone close to the situation were optimistic he'd get back to playing at a high level, but they felt it was better than not having T-Mac at all. As it became increasingly clear that McGrady in his present state wasn't helping the team that much, and that they were able to win without him fairly consistently, the micro-fracture option started making more sense.

Well, hopefully McGrady will make a good recovery. I know most fans are done with him, but I think the Rockets front office will probably wait and see how he looks at the start of training camp next year before deciding what they really want to do with him.

again, tracy wants what's best for his career. feign stated the other "alternatives" will still put him out a long time like surgery. and that doctor is an EXPERT in alternatives.

the only alternatives tracy has tried so far is rest + workout.

so yea, tracy has to agree to the procedure, which i'm sure he did. but i'm sure dr. cole agrees with tracy's assessment. for a guy like tracy, i'm sure he always asked: "what's the best for my career?"

YoYo - Good scoop - Its just being reported that Tmac is going under the knife. Any idea how long the recovery is going to be? I would think that it would be minor microfracture surgery if there is such a thing because his MRI wasn't different when he was scoped.

it varies. it's being done on a non-weight bearing part of his knee so the extensiveness of the surgery is very minor. hopefully he takes his rehab seriously, unlike this past year b/c he won't have shoulder surgery along with it.

i'm guessing he can start rehabbing in 2-3 months, and probably CAN come back for the start of next year. but that will most likely be with another team.

I'm really sad to see T-Mac go down like this. If this really is the end of his days as a star, then I can think of no other player who's been so damn good yet so unlucky/stupid/lazy. Mac is my favorite player, but it looks like he's going to be just plain ol' McGrady from now on. I guess I'd better start watching Michael Finley play so I can get an idea of how watching T-Mac 2.0 will be like.

"McGrady met with the Dr. Brian Cole, who will perform the surgery, in Chicago on Monday. Cole is considered an expert in alternative procedures, but the recommendation that he have the microfracture procedure remained unchanged."

its a recommendation, its not ONE of the options when one of the best in his field gives you his opinion
Tmac has a say in it but I dont think anyone would be dumb enough to go under a potential career-changing procedure. we're talking about a player whose life depends on that knee

I hope T-mac can come back 100% because I'll always be a T-mac fan. Which ever team he end up in it will bemy 2nd favorite team. But I hope he will play for Rockets next season. if he is healthy

He's going to have surgery on his shoulder again, remember? He said that it's arthritic so they're gonna have to perform surgery again. It just does not look good to me.

    Yup, I agree.

And didn't Amare had microfracture surgeries on BOTH of his knees?

At this point, his only value is as an expiring contract. I expect Morey to get something REALLY good for it.

    Bosh maybe?!?
