Yeah, I think that is his problem. He acts like he is right there with LeBron and Bosh when you talk about FA. He is too confident. He thinks this season doesn't matter and he will all of the sudden become a dominat player again next season. So far he hasn't shown ANYTHING. He needs to understand that and try to do his best in those last few games. His last chance to fight for something or maybe he is ok with vet's minimum.
On paper that could be an amazing team if he recovers to 75%-80% of his former self. Right now you can tell that knee is still bothering him, or he is just not confident with it. He's had plenty of time to get in shape. Then again, I'm not sure he would defer to being 4th or 5th on the totem pole. He certainly wouldn't be a starter.
lmao, was this really thread worthy? c'mon man. all he said he wouldn't mind going back home to play in Orlando. its not like it was one of his infamous, "should have kept it yourself" comments. Last I checked, he never dissed the city of Orlando since he left. Nor did he disrespect Houston. But I get it, you losers have nothing to b**** about since TMac is no longer on the team. So anytime T-Mac makes a comment, it releases you.
Either your definition of 'closely' is different from mine or you haven't seen McGrady play this year.
Gotta admit that would be a neat lineup with the cousins playing together again. I would definitely watch.
In my mind, TMac has joined Steve Francis in being part of NBA myth and lore. Or, in other words, he has drifted off into the sea of forgetfulness, a footnote in the history of the league. I was once flamed unmercifully on this board for predicting that Stevie would never be on the All NBA team, never be on the US National team, and most certainly would never be in the HOF. They went crazy around here. After seeing him play a few times I concluded that he was more fluff than substance. TMac, however, had much more than athleticism, he had mad skills, unlimited potential. But, unfortunately, injuries and his temperament scuttled a certain HOF career. He may still make it, but doubtful.
If McGrady were to say," I love puppy dogs", some people would take it as proof that he hates kitty cats.
Tmac knows that next year he's not going to gain much interest from teams so he is lobbying ahead of time for a team to pick him up
The idea of him succeeding as a secondary playmaker on the Magic isn't all that far-fetched to me. For all his faults (inconsistency, defense, durability), his ability to see the floor, dish and handle the rock still stand out. SVG loved running the Hedo/Dwight PnR. This is something even a hobbled McGrady knows how to do. Plus, defenses clearly aren't keying in on him anymore. Even as a go-to-guy facing constant attention or doubles he was still just as good of a long distance shooter as some of the Magic's current role players -- and Lord knows, the Magic love to shoot their three's. But yeah, I get it. He's declining pretty rapidly. Just saying if you have a team that's good enough to win without him already, you would think that team could be borderline unbeatable if you catch him on a night where his game is "on". Given Orlando's perennial contender status and significant depth, you could probably get away with stashing him on your bench and seeing what he's got left. Nobody in their right mind will give him a sizable contract so you could definitely do a lot worse for the money that he'll likely draw.
He will be a better turkoglu and yes, i think he has the same play making skills as turk + a bit more offence. plus they are both pretty damn lazy
Everybody knows Tracy is a Florida boy. Not to mention the primary reason that the Magic are contenders. It was really about the suits in Orlando that Mac had a problem with. If this was to happen....funny how life tends to come full circle. Tmac and Vince together again, start together....end of the road together.
