Just because you don't consider Iverson a great player means jack. Iverson is up there with anyone. Take him away and Philly is the worst team in the league. Shaq is the MVP, followed by Duncun. But I don't think Nash is should be considered - he's good, but he's not even on Iverson's level. T-Mac won't get considered because the Rockets don't have a sick record, and that's generally one of the critieria.
very good point about the record because i think the 6-11 start will derail any chance he had. however, if we had started the season off well he would be much talked about as a possible MVP candidate.
T-mac's performance last night against the lowly hornets told that he does not deserve to be considered as MVP!!! Case closed. To me, the race of MVP is between Shaq n Nash. Duncan has had one of the worst season in his career this year. KG and Kobe lead their teams to nowhere. T-mac is just too inconsistent. Iverson's team records are just horrid. Amare cant lead his team without Nash whereas Nash leads Suns 2-0 without Amare with one impressive triple doubles performance. Wade and Dirk i consider as 2nd level MVP this season. So is all between Nash and Shaq. Personally i think if shaq can lead Heat to have better record than Suns, he will win it.
What a load of horsecrap! You are an idiot, plain and simple! BTW, Shaq should win it easily, no one should be even close to Shaq in the MVP voting. Nash? You kidding me?! The guy is one deminsional: he can ONLY hurt you offensively, and he is horrid on defense. Shaq will run away with it, and deservingly so, mark my words!
IF you dont agree with others and you called them idoit is PLAIN RUDE!!!! Tell me, between Lebron n T-mac for MVP race, who will you choose??? The truth is both are not good enough!!! Personnally i think Shaq should win it but i think Wade's suberb performance this season more or less affect Shaq's vote. Plus, alot of media and journalists are on Nash's bandawagon... But i still think the race will be between Nash n Shaq! i do adnit i m a big fan of Nash!
That is NOT why I called your you out on your assertion, it is your own business to say whether T-Mac or Lebron are MVP candidates or not, I don't think they will come close to winning it, it is clearly Shaq as far as I am concerned. I called you out because you made a silly and dumb assertion based on ONE game, as you have clearly stated that based on 1 game (the Hornets game last night) T-Mac can't be considered for MVP. I don't think he should be considered, nor do I think Dirk or Lebron or Kobe or KG should be considered, either. To me, Shaq is the clear favorite and should run away with it. However, If that was the criteria (based on one game, and not the entire body of work), then no one in the whole league would qualify for the award. THAT is why your statement was quiet simply rediculous! Think before you throw out blanket statements that show not only a bias, but completely dismiss your otherwise valid argument. That was my point...
Maybe u misunderstand my statement, sorry for my poor english, what i mean yesterday last game poor performance basically sum up t-mac's chance as mvp consideration due to his poor FG%. Unless he can lead rockets to fourth seed then ha can consider as mvp again... Calling others idiots becos they dont agree with you is CLASSLESS!!!! FULL STOP
It was not because you disagreed with me, I could care less about that, I clearly explained the reason behind that in my post above. You clearly said that according to T-Mac's performance in the Hornets game, he is no MVP. If I were you, I would have said something like the following: "I don't think that T-Mac is an MVP candidate this year, and the reasons are...". But you clearly said that your opinion was based on the Hornets game. If I am mistaken, or if I misunderstood what you meant to say, then I appologize, but since we are communicating through our keyboards, I have no other way to understand what you intended to say, but were unable to correctly communicate. The only way I can judge what you say, or what you mean, is through what you type. There is a lot miscommunication at times in this forum, and if that was the case here I applogize for misunderstanding what you meant to say. BTW, just so you know, I don't think T-Mac is worthy of the MVP award either, but not based on the Hornets game, or not because he has been anything less than stellar this season (IMHO) in making the adjustment to a new team, but simply because other players have had a more impressive season so far, IMO. Again, I think Shaq will run away with it, and if he doesn't, then something is wrong. IMO, as long as Shaq and Duncan are in the league and are healthy and playing at their current level, no other player should be considered for the MVP award, because simply put, these ARE the two best players in the league year-in and year-out.
I have a lot of respect for you, but you made a mistake in calling this guy an idiot. He probably is an idiot. But really, what you should say, is what he said was idiotic. As someone who gets personally attacked on here a great deal, it's one thing to have your words attacked, it's another to have your character attacked.
Note taken! I have never called someone that before, although I see it thrown around plenty on the BBS, but I try to stay away from it, but you are right: attack the words, not the person. Will keep that in mind!
Co MVPS? If there are Co-MVPs it will involve a duo of these: Steve Nash, Shaq, Tim Duncan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant(doubtful due to a losing record), and Kevin Garnett(doubtful due to no play-offs). Dirk and TMac as Co-MVPs? Ha.
To use your own word, it means jack because you consider Iverson a great team player. Take Nash aways, you had a 2004 version of Suns with Maburry.
Players from fifth or sixth seed teams don't win MVP's when they are playing with the second best center in the NBA. I think an MVP award has hardly ever gone to a player whose team didn't finish in the Top 4 in the league.
Iverson has won an MVP. Keep that in mind. And you look at that team...an injured CWebb (and only recently did they acquire him), Dalembert, Korver, and Iguodala. Take Iverson out of there and they SUCK BALLS. Phonix without Nash is still a pretty good team. Forget last year. That was an anomaly. You may think Iverson is over-rated, but geez, he's surrounded by guys like
I didnt' exactly mean Dirk with Tmac. Tmac with anyone.. Anyways someone said that Tmac's not MVP after that Hornets game..uhh all players do poorly some games..I've seen Nash do not so well some games..but anyways his team still wins. Kobe and KG no way because of their records..but KG maybe just maybe. Nash, Duncan, and Shaq are main candidates. I still think Tmac is top 5. Lebron is good..and yeah he's valuable..I'm just biased and dont' think he's an MVP candidate.
If you take T-Mac away, the Rockets won't even make the playoffs, so what makes you think that Iverson who is barely taking 76ers to that 8th spot in the east is any more deserving to be considered as MVP than T-Mac?
Again, you guys are really needlessly arguing about this, IMHO. I think it is pretty clear it will be Shaq, a distant second will be Duncan, and a third will be Iverson (being the scoring leader in the league ALWAYS has heavy leverage that comes with it. If you remember, T-Mac was a top candidate a couple of times in Orlando when he was the leading scorer AND made the playoffs). Being the leading scorer is HUGE leverage.
Iverson is putting up monster numbers - he is more deserving. If Houston was going to get 60 wins, I'd say T-mac, but since Houston has 0 chance of getting anywhere near that, T-mac has 0 chance. Iverson has 0 chance too this year, but at least he's won one before.
