TMac should take longer break if Wafer plays like this (even Artest should rest more)

I actually really like how this team is playing right now and wouldn't mind this idea. Tmac should take ALL the time he needs so that when he plays again, it should be at his max potential and no more excuses!

I'm sure he meant the latter. What else would he insinuate. Brilliant deduction!

i agree with the OP. right now wafer is in a good groove and we'll see how long this can last. this will hopefully help him when we get into the playoffs (remember luther head playing well a few yrs ago and disappeared in the playoffs. playing wafer like this will given him a ton of confidence)

and more rest for tracy and artest isn't a bad thing.

    why not?

if he plays well, and i love the team chemistry. this are no more excuse and drama for Tmm

if we win more games, build the momentum, plus those two have enough time to heal their problems. too good to be true for me.

our team has amazing talent, brooks, mandry, wafer, yao, tmac. almost everyone is hardworking, (not tmac..)

    man, talk about potential.

McGrady, for sure. Artest, I actually hope he could come back this Wednesday against Utah Jass. I don't like our chances without him.

Wait a minute, this only seems like a viable option b/c Yao has noticeably upped his game in the absence of the other stars. Do we really want to keep this load on Yao and expect a veritable newbie to continue performing at this level? I disagree strongly.

Keep Tmac off the court but bring back Artest soon

First, use Wafer to give Artest some time to recover. Then use both Artest and Waferto to give Tracy some more time to recover. If the Rockets follow this plan, Tracy could have at least one full month to fix his problems.

Wafer's had a few good games, plays with high energy, scores freely, etc. I like watching him, like how his constant movement sparks the offense, etc.

Having said that, if Mac gets healthy, Wafer can't hold his jock.

When Wafer is at his best, he is a player in this league. When Mac is at his best, he is one of the top 3 players in the league.

I was thinking something similar. Don't know how long Wafer's fantastic trip of productivity will last, but I think we should ride it as long as we can.

The cons - he's lacking on defense. His passing is sometimes less than stellar. And.....

The pros - his % has been pretty good - except for last game it was really good. He ATTACKS the basket. He's quick and fearless.

As a whole our ball movement lately has been great and fun to watch. I think it benefited the team greatly for RA to announce that this was the team and start to build the cohesion. I think we all know that this ball movement is not nearly as good with T-Mac on the floor. So in conclusion, I would give T-Mac a couple more weeks if possible to get rehabbed as much as possible. I would bring Artest back sooner (than T-Mac) since we'll need his defense, but if we can hold out another week for him as well that'd be nice.

Wafer is playing well because the other teams don't have any scouting reports on him yet.

Just like Brooks did the last couple week from his early season play, other teams will defensively adapt to Wafer soon and he'll start to come back down to earth.

Star players are stars because they can beat defenses even if they are zoned in on them. Wafer and Brooks will be average players once the defenses start to get familiar with their strengthens and weaknesses.

I like both Brooks and Wafer ...but I'm also realistic that they aren't replacements for seasoned veterans ...yet!

McGrady must not be a star any more. The other team's best defense is watching him in street clothes.

we have enough to win against easy teams and obviously enough to compete against the better teams. let them both rehab for a month

Then the other teams must not have adapted to Landry, because Landry is still coming up with consistent numbers.

If the trains not broken dont fix it. I think atleast mcgrady should come back off the bench. We look like a better team that actually can have a fast break now.

Tmac should stay out until he is:

    1. Healthy
    2. In shape
    3, Mentally ready
    4. Motivated

    Until then, he sits.

And the 2 week time table was Tmac's....not the organizations....if you read Feigen's blog there is no timetable for return.

I just watched these highlights against the Bucks on New Year's Eve and focused on Tracy. Tracy was in a ton of highlights, but he was always passing or just being in the right place at the right time. There were so many times that the old Tracy would have made the basket look easy. I'm starting to believe in Tracy again. There is no way he was healthy on 12/31/08 and he still did what he could. After watching these highlights and remembering exactly how special Tracy is as a player, I really hope we don't trade him.
