We're already paying him $20M to roll over in the playoffs every year.

I may have said that his role in the offense should be de-emphasized, but make Battier a starter over him? No way at all.

That said, you don't have to change your starters to achieve (what I hope) you were getting at: play much of the game with two basic (non-starting) lineups:

    Start: Yao-Scola-Artest-McGrady-Alston
sub out Artest for Battier to get him a breather so he can come back at the end of the first to lead a Adelman high post offense group:
    Scola-Landry-Artest-Barry-(Head/Brooks)
then shift back to a in/out focused group of:
    Yao-(Landry/Hayes)-Battier-McGrady-(Alston/Head/Brooks)

Obviously we can mix these up, but if McGrady isn't interested in running the Adelman motion offense, maybe we should focus on running it with a 5-man combo that is built well for it.

McGrady shouldn't be traded. He shouldn't be benched. But we do need to get rid of this idealized notion that he's the guy he was in Orlando or that he can (will?) be a slashing playmaker for 4 quarters. At this point, his greatness comes in short bursts - which is very useful in the 4th, but not something you want to rely on for your basic offense.

Nah....you don't put superstar on the bench. Don't worry, he will get plenty of bench if he don't play well.

    Preach on!
We also need to get rid of the notion that Orlando games belong on the GARM.
    NBA Dish people.

It was kinda important to have Yao the last series. The other series he was good, Yao was struggling with Boozer/Okur. You're acting like we didn't advance because he was averaging 11ppg and 6 TO in the playoffs.

We need all three on the court at the same time as much as possible. Why? Because all three will have it easier when they play with each other. Who do you double? Who do you front? Do teams have 3 lock down defenders for them? Nope. With those three playing, it will be hard to double any of them.

I can't believe you guys are actually taking the TMac Hater aka AntiSonic posts seriously.

Clutch please change his moniker to AntiTMac so people won't be thrown off when he makes his usual lame posts on Tracy.

While i do not know AntiSonic personally, I wouldn't say he's a Mac hater. I think he's just a tad more cynical and jaded. To be honest, between Artest, Tmac and Yao roughly 90% of our cap disappears. if you couple that with the fact we've been labeled contenders since Tmac came to this team, consistent first round exits will jade a lot of Rockets fans.

    then again, I'm probably wrong.

No, he's a TMac hater. Quick look of his recent posts is all TMac haterade fixations.

He sees TMac as the symbol (and therefore vents his frustrations on Tracy) of why we are not still in our glory ISO bball days where Francis, Cat, Cato, MoTaylor, and Moochie and the rest of the merry ISO gang ran amok with bloated contracts while RudyT sat back with a WTF have I done look on his face. Ahhh yes the good ole days....

As Tracy would say "It's my fault, it's all my fault"

This post is why Darrel Morey is the GM, and this guy is a poster on an internet message board.

Leave the decisions to Morey and Adelman.

Put down the whisky bottle or crack pipe.

And if you feel you are about to make an epicly dumb post, just step away from the keyboard. It is better to be silent and everyone think you are a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

There are guys like marbury etc. that get paid a ton and dont play at all.. so i dont think how much a person gets paid is indicative of how many mins they get.

i actually think this idea has merit. i like tracey but he can be our Ginobli off the bench.

When starters are in, you pound it in yao/artest to open up shots, when 2nd unit comes in with brooks/tmac, you run and let tracey do his thing.

we are gonna have a HUGE year my friends...

It's an interesting question. I think if it's valid to ask whether or not Artest should come off the bench then it has to be equally as valid to ask whether T-Mac should as well.

There's another issue here. Which guy plays better with Yao? There was a lot of discussion last season about how Yao and T-Mac never really looked that great together as a duo.

We're not paying him $20M to roll over in the playoffs buddy. It's either the injures that are killing us or it's the fact that some moron GMs are paying Stern to screw us.
