Who's trying to stir **** up? I've never been a "McGrady Hater," or whatever the proper term is. But when he's asked a question like this, with his team, and it is still his team, fighting in the playoffs, you simply don't answer the way he answers. Frankly, I'm surprised anyone would support what he said. Here it is: His pick for the title: “Lakers. (Host: That easy, again?) It’s no knock on Cleveland, I think Cleveland’s gonna get there… Cleveland to me is really not that good. If you take what the Celtics did last year… You knew, they were either gonna get to the finals, or they were gonna win it. You can’t really say the same thing about the Cavaliers. I think they’re a good team, but I don’t they’re ready to take the next step.” How can any Rockets fan read that and not get ticked off? No mention at all of the Houston Rockets. Hey, I never forgave Fran Blindbury for picking the Lakers to come out of the West in the spring of 1986, before the Rockets played them in the WC finals and destroyed them in 5 games. Why should I be any different with McGrady?
Lol so because McGrady is on the Rockets and gave his OPINION that he believes the Lakers are going to win it all its wrong?? We are playing the Blazers. So there is a chance we may get out the 1st round. Im not buying anything with the 1 game blow out because things happen. So if there is a slight chance we make it out and the Lakers so happen to win and we face them and lose then is what?? I understand that guys are fans and are going to root for there team and hope their team wins it all but being a fan and knowing the truth is two different things. If guys really think this Rockets team can go all the way then they are missing something. Im sorry but im just being real.
Agree but even "fans" on here have their opinion. Would have loved to see how it was here the last 2 years. I would love to see how its going to be here in about 2 months.
Some of us, because we are Rockets fans, choose to NOT bit** at every opportunity about a guy on our roster when its really not warranted. The guy can't open his mouth and say anything without comments cluttering ClutchFans. The fact that this thread has gone so many pages if proof that people here overthink and manufacture hate for TMac. They claim to hate the drama, but they're the ones making it. The guy could say "I drove a car today" and there would immediately be a 7 page thread full of comments saying: "Dayum that TMac we don't pay him 21 million to drive cars" "Wow he could be at home rehabbing" "Why isn't he with the team instead of driving a car?" "Wow, this really shows his lack of motivation.... he could be walking instead of driving" "Wow he is really a little prima donna; doesn't he know how many people in the world can't afford cars? What a terrible example of an egotistical athlete"

How can any Rockets fan not get ticked off???? Every time Van Gundy makes a comment there is 5 pages of drivel saying "he's a homer, he is too loyal, he's full of shizz". Do you think the Rockets are going to win a ring? No, neither do I, I HOPE they do, but I HIGHLY doubt it! TMac was asked to give his response to a question, it's very simple. I wish more athletes were honest and gave interesting answers instead of the Rip Hamilton/Chauncey Billups/Erick Dampier "my team is the best, and we're going to win." Secondly, did you read the thread where everyone EMPHATICALLY said that McGrady gets none of the credit for any wins in the playoffs and that he should even "stay at least a mile away from the team at all times"? Double-standards TO THE MAX. Good lord. Lastly, a comment from anyone (especially a guy who isn't part of the team, but is on the roster) shouldn't bother you enough to manufacture such controversy over it. Let it go, and move on. In the end I don't really care what anyone says about the Rockets chances except the guys on the court.
Dude....what you are obviously failing to realize is that Tracy isn't a FAN....he is a $20 million dollar employee of the Rockets organization. You support your team 150% know matter what. He could have just as easily said how great the Rockets are looking and that he believes in "his guys" and that if we meet LA it'll be a great series. That's it. At some point, dumb-dumb needs to realize when to shut the spigot of stupidity off.

wow... I'm really getting tired of T-Mac first he throws Yao under the bus by saying that he was never fortunate to play with Shaq or KG. then he says he's the Rockets' biggest cheerleader on tmac.com, only to discretely throws the Rockets under the bus by picking the Lakers to win it all?
Are you guys really surprised Tmac would say something like this given all the things he has said in the past? Is it really that big of a deal? Or is it more that there just isn't any good Tmac bashing threads these days? Are you guys really angry?
Honestly? Honestly people... do you think the Rockets are going to win a ring? Everytime someone starts a thread (see: Do The Rockets Have A Chance Vs. Lakers Thread?) people flip out saying "don't jinx us we have to win the first round!" People around here aren't even confident in the first round!
