Fair enough, but then you are not the team captain are you?

TMAC is just honest. Seriously when someone asks him a question he answers it.

How are you feeling tracy? My knee is at 75%, doesn't really feel good.

I don't understand why people want pro-athletes to lie. There is no doubt in my mind he is rooting for Yao to win the championship.

That is not always that good to tell the truth. If you can't lie than just STFU :)

I think that is so dumb that we demand to be lied to. We like to be lied to by the team then get told the truth by "insiders". It makes no sense to me.

No I am not and neither is McGrady. Even if he is ok but I would believe Yao is captain also. No one is perfect. You can't expect McGrady to say all the correct things all the time. From the time he was here with the Rockets guys should just already expect to hear what comes out of his mouth. I dont know why all of a sudden this is a shocker to most guys.

Obviously it is better to know the truth. But sometimes it may kill your hopes (like this year) so it is better just not to tell anything.

Tmac is the Rocket's team captain, still is.....and I certainly do not expect McGrady to say all the correct things, he is an uneducated man, who came straight from High school, and it shows.

So its ok for Yao to lie and say he feels good. His foot is fine when everyone knows that he has foot problems?? This makes no sense.

McGrady already lied and said he feels fine. His knee is ok and look what happened. The lie back fired and we all saw that he wasn't fine.

Just because he came straight from High School to the NBA doesn't mean he is an uneducated man. That's just wrong. He has been in the league for 12-13 years. I'm sure he has learned things from his time of playing. KG must be uneducated also because he came straight out of H.S. So did Kobe. Are they uneducated also??

True, Tmac did lie about doing the rehab last summer and all that weight and lack of effort ended up hurting his knee worse.

So, I guess you do have a point. Tmac is just stupid to say these things.....he is the Forest Gump of the Houston Rockets.

It's never about whether a player is being honest or not. If Mcgrady is all "honest" and say his coach and his team sucks in front of the media, how do you think everyone would react?

Truth or not, some things can't be said publically. When he said Lakers would win it all, IMO it is borderline inappropriate.

Yao feels fine (at least he looks that way) so he does not need to lie.

I am not encouraging McGrady to lie. It is good that he tells the thuth. I am his fan but for me he just talkED too much.

It looks like he understands it know. It is probably his first radio interview since the surgery.

Nope. No way to count on T-Mac saying the right things all the time. But it just doesn't seem to hard to maybe show some support for the team that is paying him, instead of saying they will flat out lose (If they get past Round 1).

The guy writes in his blog on the 14th saying he's going to be the "team’s number 1 cheerleader" and then six days later he picks their potential 2nd round matchup. Way to go captain T-Mac. You certainly proved you are the #1 cheerleader.

Too true. The guy doesn't deserve to be strung up, given a history of parking a foot in his mouth up to the armpit, but it doesn't make him immune from criticism for making that comment. When the only real excuse is that he is just a guy that makes dumb comments, Tracy should be looking for a hole to crawl in. You know what I want? To see him on the bench cheering the team at the next game. I hope he is.

I do not want that.....just let him move on, and ignore him......he had his chance and blew it.

It is a new day, and the sun is shining....and Tmac is no longer a Rocket.

Well, it will be that way..soon..I hope.

I just don't see it as dumb. Lakers are the favorites. He was making a pick. If someone put a gun to my head and said pick the winner I am not saying Rockets even though I would do anything to see them win again.

I think you guys are missing want to win and prediction on who will win.

Casey, he's still on the team. He's still a team captain. The Rockets are just beginning what we hope will be a long playoff run. We play the Lakers after we (hopefully) win this series. I just can't see why anyone would defend what he said. That's harder for me to understand than McGrady saying something goofy, given the circumstances. If the Lakers were to get out of the second round, of course. Why would anyone care?

The thing I find most odd about this statement is that it came just 3 days after he said he was the team's #1 cheerleader on his website...
