He was asked a question, "who he thought was going to win it all"? He said "Lakers", like ANY OBJECTIVE PERSON would. Here's what he didn't say: - I support the Lakers - I don't support the Rockets - The Rockets have 0% chance of defeating the Lakers - I am jealous that the Rockets will advance without me - Yao is soft, Dwight Howard is greatest dream! Wanna know why he didn't mention the Rockets in that conversation? Because the Rockets don't belong in a conversation involving "who's going to win it all?" Besides, doesn't T-Mac own this site now? Ah man.. I agree but you should let it go... there have been NUMEROUS posts by people stating that what he said is TERRIBLE and INEXCUSABLE. Maybe they're just reading the thread title and not the article.. I just don't understand it, Because of that I've been called a T-Mac only fan and told to leave the boards. Best of luck to you.
Ahhhh, so THAT's what it is..... The Rockets haven't gotten out of the first round since McGrady's been here... ...and since he isn't playing games now, where people can pick out 5 or 7 minutes where he "disappears" or "quits" or "gives up", and ignore 8 to 10 other guys who do next to noting for an entire playoff series... ...it's not McGrady not wanting to win or not trying to win. It's his teammates not liking him enough or respecting him enough to play like they give a damn and do something to win ONE GAME that either he or Yao Ming spot them? Really? Wow. And here I'm thinking all this time that the Rockets just didn't have enough people on the court the last few years outside of either Yao or McGrady to beat somebody in a playoff series. If any Rocket comes out NOW and says that they could have won a series by now if McGrady had lit a fire under them or something... ...then they're more of an ass than McGrady could ever hope to be. And I know how hard McGrady tries to be that, believe me... ..and more idiotic than you are. The Rockets were losing playoff series before McGrady got here. Yao included. They weren't even making the playoffs for a while. Yao went down two seasons in a row, and McGrady plugs the gaping hole in that dam and gets people to thinking he's going to make postseason stars out of Shane Battier and Rafer Alston and Chuck Hayes and Luther Head and whoever the hell else impersonated NBA players on this team for the past five seasons. They get beat and whether McGrady steps up and says it's his fault or not, or whether he fades in the fourth quarter or doesn't take over or whatever else, it's for no other reason than all the other Rockets PLANNING TO LOSE IN ORDER TO MAKE MCGRADY LOOK BAD? Are you serious? Nobody does that. Players will throw coaches under the bus, but not other players. Every player would have gone on record a long time ago if McGrady were half the "cancer" or "jinx" or "coward" people on this forum make him out to be. ESPECIALLY NOW. It's fine to hate McGrady, in my opinion. I like him well enough as he is. He isn't perfect. He hasn't won when it matters. That will never be all his fault, but it will always be all his fault. I think it's more because of your holier than thou slams on the crowd here than your eagerness to go into McGrady damage control mode.
By being objective, he betrayed his team and its fans. Therefore he deserves to be flamed. If you don't understand that, you are not a Rockets fan. TMac's proclamation that Lakers will win it all is no different from saying "Hey all Rockets fans, we SUCK, Rockets don't belong in a conversation involving 'who's going to win it all'". Guess what TMac. Some of us don't miss you anymore. We hope we won't have to see you again next season.
tmac is pointing out the obvious... ...but there is something to say about collective will guided by the brute of artest, the smarts of battier, the experience of adelman, and the know-how of barry. We have all the ingredients to win it this year if we dont let a little success(game 1) affect our approach. We also cant be succored by the media to say things that would affect the team's mojo (tmac and deke in past seasons). no guarantees or machismo please. stay humble and hungry. i like our chances...

man tmac has a lot of power on this board. a simple interview where he didn't mention one single thing about the rockets and it's a 15 page thread. i guess more ppl care about what he has to say than how we're going to whup portland's butt in game 2.
