Watching Garnett just now during the Boston/Chicago game (clutch trey by Allen for the win!), the guy was clearly about to go insane from the desire to be out there playing. My wife asked, "Who's the crazy looking guy on the Boston bench? Is he a coach?" I laughed and said, "No sweetie, that's Garnett, and he's going crazy because he can't play." And that should be McGrady's attitude. It very well may be his attitude and I agree that he should never have done the interview, if he was going to put his foot in his mouth, up to his elbow.

I'm betting that if we get to the second round, some reporter is going to annoy the Rockets players with the question: "Tracy picks the Lakers to win it all. What do you think about that?"

McGrady is not "another fan" just because he's injured; he's part of a team fighting in the playoffs. But listening to the interview, you just don't get the feeling that he sees himself that way.

Oh, well. Sad but no big deal.

People here don't see Tmac on the bench, and view him as an impartial 3rd party observer.

But Tmac IS STILL ON THIS TEAM. At least I still consider him a part of the team. And that's why I can't fathom him saying something like this. And that's why after just seeing the Celts game I am reaffirmed in my doubt that KG would ever answer the question the same way.

Well Shane said the Rockets weren't ready for the playoffs a few weeks ago. No big deal.

I'm sure he's not the only guy thinking they can't beat the Lakers.

I don't see whats wrong with him mentioning the obvious....if the Lakers don't win it this year, it will be the biggest upset in NBA history...okay maybe second biggest after the Mavs getting knocked out by Golden State

    exactly.

it's probably no biggie, but like always, every times he opens his mouth, i'm worried.

he's still officially a rocket, people. and we're still playing.

Deckard: It would be nice to see from Tmac, but that isn't him, and I'd rather not see him fake those emotions on the bench just to please the fans. I don't really care whether he attends the games really, it's not like he's someone who his team mates look up to and want to do well for anyway.

Mac's comments were stupid to say, but not worth getting upset over either. I thought his previous comments on him getting a championship if he was on the celtics or had Duncan on his team more disrespectful to the team.

This is a good thing. I think that would fire some guys up no doubt about it. Im pretty sure there are just as sick of Tracy as I am.

I hope after/if we make it to the second round it is brought out into the open and blown up. Its bulletin board material the way I see it.

wow, such a long thread. (and i surprised myself by skimming through it.)

it's no surprise to me after all. some things just never change. you know, things like loser mentality.

and it it true that a player and his fan base are often alike. i'm not even angry no more.

I didn't mean that I thought McGrady should act the same way as Garnett, but just that he seem to care as much, by showing some faith in his teammates or just not making the sort of comment he made. And I'm not sure I'd agree that there aren't guys on the team that look up to him. I bet there still are some. You'd think they would know him better than we do. Perhaps they expect McGrady "footis-in-mouthis" disease and assume his comments are unintended insults. Who knows?

This guy is never going to learn, change or mature. Rookies that came into the league a decade after Tmac already show better presence of mind. Its time to go.

i'm a big rocket fan as much as any other person on this thread...but realistically i don't think we have what it takes to beat the Lakers. I say we do have a legitimate chance though...but when it all comes down, Lakers would take us in 6 or 7 games. (5 if adelman allows artest to talk to kobe) but for tmac to be hurt and pick ANOTHER team to win it all while we're STILL in the playoffs (and looking good in it btw). i dont believe tmac should have done that. as a player on the injured list, you have to support your team 100% on and off the court no matter what. if someone asks you who do you think is going to win it all? you say the rockets OR say something very vague in which you don't really pick a team if you think the rockets have no chance. what tmac did was not support his team when we needed it. this guy has hardly ever been to the games and never really said anything to support the rockets ever since his injury, tmac my friend...you are definitely not a team player...

The Lakers have dominated us 4 times this season. The Lakers have dominated the entire Western Conferance and are the only team to beat the Cavs in Cleavland.

I hope we win it all, and there is always a chance, but the chances are very slim.

the western conference is weaker than it has been the past few years, there is only one great team, and eight good teams in the west, the cavs are very over rated, and so is the magic, and the rest of the east

You can't compare the situation that Garnett is in with that of Tmac here. Garnett is still being love in Boston and fans look forwards to him being an integral part of the Celtics next season. As for Tmac, we (or at least 90% of the fans) are trying to run him out of town.

Your just putting words in his mouth and trying finding another reason to hate him.

You think thats bad, try being a Jazz fan right now, when your own coach doesn't believe in you and told the media straight up that the Jazz's chances were bleak against the Lakers.

I think Tmac picked what most us are thinking anyways. I think Cleveland will give LA a tough series and that can go either way, but with Ron Artest ready to challenge Kobe and get humiliated in the process, we aint gonna beat LA and neither are the Spurs or Mavs. Denver might have the most firepower to try to match up with the Lakers, but they are too small up front.

Unless Yao just dominates vs. 2 7 footers, and Brooks outplays Brooks and Kobe's shot is just off, we aren't beating the Lakers in a series. Maybe a game or 2, but not the series. Sorry folks, but thats the truth until the Rockets change it.

Why is this still on the front page? I don't want to hear this T-Mac shizz any more. We've all established our positions, and in the end it doesn't matter a bit. Move along, folks...
