    exactly!

and Morey would never pick the lakers when the Rockets are still competing.

heck Morey even gave me a standard PR response last year in the vegas summer league when i asked him if he think the rockets will win it all, and this was before the artest deal...he said something like "there are a lot of tough teams out there but I like our chances against any one of them on a given night and i do think we can compete for a championship"

its not saying the rockets will win it, but its not saying another team is going to.

you cannot compare yao and kobe they are two different players and positions. if you asked shane kobe and tmac I am sure shane would praise kobe and tmac equally and say something like 'kobe has the rings so you have to give him the edge but when tracy gets his then they be at the same level again'

carmichael dave asked Ron who was better Dwight Howard or Yao...ron said Yao and CD kept going on about how great dwight was and ron kept saying Yao was better. then CD said thats cuz he is on your team. I bet next year if you are on the magic you would say Dwight is the best center on the planet. Ron starting laughing because it was true.

it doesnt matter who the person is, if they are your teammate you support them 200%

Hmm, If I was a team captain on a championship contending team....

I would ALWAYS say MY TEAM was going to win it all.

And I would be BEYOND pissed if one of my teammates did not believe it themselves, injured or not....

Thank God that your not our G.M lol :D . But it isn't his fault that Novak didn't get to play. Its Novak's own fault that he didn't get the playing time for him to see the court.

what did yao say was the goal of this year: GET OUT OF THE FIRST ROUND. so apparently even yao thinks we can't win it all.

some of you guys try to make something out of nothing.

What the hell has happened to the team loyalty nowadays. I remember back in the 90's you would never catch a fan or player gushing over another team especially a conference rival like the Lakers. My definition of a fan and team player is someone that never gives up on the team even if the situation looks bad. We are still in this thing whether T-mac or T-mac's fans think otherwise and the funny thing is we are in a better situation this year without that diva then we ever have been. So all you so called Rockets fans that agree with whatever T-mac says or does can get your bags packed because your boy's days in Houston are numbered and you can take that bet to the bank.

The McGrady era is nearly over. His supporters think we'll regret it when he's gone. I say we won't, just like Orlando ultimately didn't a few years later.

We'll find a replacement within a couple of years and that replacement will compete harder, play better, keep his mouth shut and do all that for half of McGrady's salary.

Okay, so let me say what I think.

    1. Tracy's prediction Lakers gonna win it all is an honest opinion.
    2. He didn't think of Rockets when he answered that question
    3. It probably didn't even occur to him that we are going to face Lakers in the next round.
    4. However, what he said could easily lead to the impression that he suggests Rockets will lose out to the Lakers BECAUSE Rockets vs Lakers in the second round is is at least as strong a prediction as that Lakers will win the finals over Cavs.

So that means that 1) TMac's heart doesn't belong with the Rockets 2) He's IQ is about the same level as someone who's last name is Bush

I wish I could post a clip of the guys on 1560 talking about this. They went through all of his comments. Its so ridiculous.

So done with Tracy. They shouldve traded him to the Pistons when they had the chance.

First of all, Link me to that, because I do not remember it....
    Second of all,
Do you think Yao would tell the media that the Lakers were going to win the championship?

    No? Me neither....

If thats so then this is a major problem. The Rockets are paying this guy 22 million dollars.

I don't think these guys understand what Morey could get with $21 mil. I mean that would mean losing T-mac and in his place get two players like Richard Jefferson and Steve Nash for the same price. The Rockets paid way to much for a guy that in my opinion was a total bust from the get go.

and myself, a mcgrady supporter, will cheer whoever that guy is to the fullest. it's all about the team.

i usually try to stay away from mcgrady topics nowadays b/c he's not playing anymore. but some of you guys just try to reach into a can looking for worms b/c it is mcgrady.

thats besides the point he talks out of his ass and instead of supporting "his guys" he pulls out this non-sense...........IT DOESNT MATTER IF THE ROCKETS ARE PLAYING THE 97 BULLS YOU STILL HAVE TO PULL FOR THE TEAM THAT YOU ARE ON........even though everyone would know they would lose its the PRINCIPLE bro

Not really. He is paid for his Basketball IQ and his ability to score. Not what he says to the media. So I say he still deserves his salary.

The goals, he kept saying, were clear and abundant, listing them in order and repeating them like a mantra.

“Get out of the first round,” he said. “Get out of the first round. Get out of the first round.”

yao wouldn't even think about a championship right now. yao's pretty realistic if you don't notice by how he talks about things.

When did this change in philosophy start?

My guess is if that you lead the post count on 95% of McGrady threads, especially those that have a negative slant, no matter how justified the negativity is.

I'm sorry, but if you care that much about who Tracy McGrady picks to go to the NBA Finals, you need to get a grip.

So he picked the Lakers to get past the entire Western Conference... big deal. He is sure as hell not the only one.

In fact, I bet 99.999999999% of this board would pick the Lakers to beat the Rockets. I mean, hell, we haven't even beaten the Lakers this season yet. On the road or at home. With Bynum on the court or without him. With a full strength lineup or without it. We are 0-4 against them. It's the pretty obvious pick, and I sure as hell am not going to get angry at Tracy for it.

hypothetical question for the people saying what he said was ok..

if T-Mac was CURRENTLY PLAYING right now and said Lakers are going all the way this year, would you defend him for "just being honest"

if not, does him being injured get him off the hook?

last I saw Mcragdy is still a Rocket and supposedly a team captain. You just don't say that when your team is still in the mix.

with that in mind its not a HUGE deal that should be blown out of proportion, but I still find it funny anyone would defend T-Mac's comments as appropriate
