Well, one thing is for sure, our offense should be very much simplified. 1. Look for Yao 2. Throw in to Yao 3. Catch the pass back from Yao. 4. Throw it right back into Yao. 5. Yao shoot. 6. Repeat 1 through 5 7. When Yao isn't in the game, drive the ball to the basket.
So now he had two back troubles to worry about in the future? What kind of back problem could possibily rest him for 2 weeks? I bet it has something to do with his bones.
Hey, I'm one of the biggest "glass half full" guys you'll find, especially with the Rockets. But, it looks VERY daunting going into the rest of the month without him there and healthy. We are not playing the T'Wolves and Pacers of the league. We play SA and Dallas twice a piece in the next two weeks. I'm still going to root for them and watch every game hoping they make the playoffs (which really won't change). I'm not bailing. But, this REALLY hurts. Yao is playing like a freaking MVP-candidate right now, but it's going to be EXTREMELY tough doing it by himself.
I think Tmac came back a lot earlier than expected with the last injury, I would bet he is back in a couple of weeks. I think the team is trying to protect him by telling the public something, and giving TMac a chance to heal, both emotionally and physically. Or, maybe he is shutting it down for the season to prepare for next year. Either is fine with me, I just want him healthy. DD
You're right it's tough. I'm just asking that people not let their emotions get the best of them. A lot of good teams only have one superstar. If one other Rocket can step up a bit, Yao might be able to power this team.
Not bionics. This would involve Biomedical engineering (biomaterials and biomechanics) if you are talking current technology in this field.. That's the field my gf and I are involved in. Sorry to say but backbone implants for a basketball player......wellllll after yao and Tmac retire.
my guess is that McGrady will try and hurry back only if the Rockets havent fallen apart in the interim. No sense in rushing him back if we don't have a chance at the playoffs. Having said, I sure hope the Rockets can keep it together and keep winning a few to keep it close.
So has anybody know what is actually wrong with the back, and why they are expecting 'up to' five week?
It is good that Tracy finally get some time to rehab. I believe that it is Rockets' best interest for him to fully recover, even though this probably means the end of our run. It also give Yao a chance to come to his own without too much pressure. Go Rockets!!!
Whether T-mac will return earlier than expected or not is very much how the rockets will do the next 2-3 week. If the rockets are out of playoffs by then, is better to shut t-mac off for the season else he can back for the final playoff push!
This will give bogans the opportunity to cement his place as starter for next season. plus yao will have to Continue to carry the slack now. infact he is going have to take even more shots now. 30 plus shots are a given now. i wouldnt be suprised to see him avge 29 to 31 points from here on.
If I were the coaches of the other teams, I would apply phoenix defense on Yao from now on - one player in front of him and the other behind him. Dont even let him touch the ball. Let our shooters take wide open perimeter shots and 70% of the time they will miss. The season is over. It's the nightmare comes true: barely missing the playoffs with low draft pick.
Actually if he's going to be taking 30+ then he needs to be scoring 40-50. Scoring a point per shot would be very unYaolike, and frankly get us nowhere.
