Let's be realistic, we can't outscore San Antonio or Dallas but we can strangle them on defense. That's the only shot we got. Take out Wesley because he can't keep up with S.A.'s guards and put in Bogans. Im coming to work at 5 on Sunday just to watch the game, and if it goes to overtime I'm coming in late. If we can split with S.A. and take out Dallas, N.O, and L.A, we can handle the rest of the schedule. I don't care if we're 8th or 7th seed. When Tracy comes back 100%, all bets are off.

Why did this thread receive 5 star rating?

Why would it receive anything less than a 5-star?

In my view, you should not be judging whether you liked the news or not but rather that it's very important/valid and someone brought the news to the board's attention first and so fast.

Now if a thread dumbs down to terrible posts, then you can change your rating accordingly. But I didn't get the Rockets press release until after this was posted... should be 5-stars.

    Well, in this instance...

    From dictionary.com:

v. tanked, tank·ing, tanks
    v. intr.

Slang. To suffer a sudden decline or failure.
Ex.: “Steady investors... kept their heads when the stock market tanked in October 1987” (Burton G. Malkiel).

Nothing in there about intent... which is why it sets my teeth on edge when folks use the expression "tank the season" to mean "give up on the season".

    And there's a hyphen in "anal-retentive".

You're not a loser until you think you are. Hope our players don't think the season's over. Their chemistry seems quite good now.

Great optimism you got there! There's no way we can take out Dallas or the Spurs without TMAC. Although we shouldn't tank all of our games, but consider this season pretty much over at this point. We'll win the games we should win and humbly lose to the heavyweights.

I disagree. We almost took out Spurs tonight without T-Mac. Probably would have if we hadn't lost Wesley. I like the way we matchup against SA and Dallas (not PHX, though). I think you're wrong.

Before I heard this news, I was thinking how natural the Rockets look with Yao as the main option, dominating. Now, take this with a grain of salt, because we don't win squat in the bigger picture without TMac healthy, but when he comes back, I would like to see him as the second option. I would rather have him in, but the more time he is out, the more Yao gets the ball and develops his confidence.

They said he is out for three weeks now...

    Surgery weighed for T-Mac
Results of Tracy McGrady's MRI on Saturday, sent Sunday to Los Angeles specialist Dr. Robert Watkins, could determine whether there is a surgical solution to McGrady's ongoing back problems, Rockets trainer Keith Jones said Sunday.

Watkins examined McGrady on Friday and said he likely would be out for up to three weeks.

Watkins had said McGrady's current problem is not chronic but is the result of a fall March 5.

But McGrady has often said he has a bulging disk that has led to back spasms.

A bulging disk is generally not treated surgically, but if McGrady has a herniated or ruptured disk, there could be surgical options.

"It all goes back to the original (condition)," Jones said. "He does have those irregularities in the disk. Whether it's bulging, herniated, whether it's a tear, that's what we're looking at, to see if it's any different from the past MRI. If they find something, and it's something that can be fixed, fix it now.

"They did the test, but they sent it out to Watkins. Then our guys are going to look at it and then confer (today) and give us something. I don't know if they found anything. I haven't heard they found anything. The radiologist and the back specialists are looking at it (Sunday) and (today.)"

Including Sunday's loss in San Antonio, McGrady has missed 15 games this season because of back problems and one for a personal matter.
