Well, I'm not sure how you define "anyone" but I did. And I have a history of related posts to back that up. The Rockets...for all of their "spreadsheet" capability...absolutely fell asleep on this one. When a player takes you to the Lottery on his back, shouldn't that make you think? I remember all of the posts from people on this board with back problems. The majority...who weren't pro athletes...were not optimistic about a 100% return to health. Secondly, there is substantial history of basketball players 7'-3" and up having leg and foot problems. Guess I'm the lone person who made the observation? To compound matters...the Rockets (specifically some combination of CD, Morey and Van Gundy) in their infinite wisdom...chose to surround these two "health suspicious" stars with one-dimensional players....Head, Battier, Hayes. That complicated matters more severely than it needed to be. To summarize...he forced a trade here, at his best health he couldn't get the team out of the first round, he is a founding member of what I call "The Trio That Plays Too Slow" (Alston, Battier and Grady) and as I mentioned prior, given his slight build, it's more likely Grady's recover favors Allen Houston as opposed to Amare Stoudemire. I never felt Grady had Kobe's work ethic, never thought Grady would recover from back problems, always thought (regardless of his half-court scoring ability) that he forced the Rockets to play too slowly and strongly feel micro-fracture surgery is more than Grady can overcome. If you want to classify this as "hate" it's your prerogative. But it's my opinion that getting something/anything for Grady's expiring contract is an absolute necessity in moving forward.
