This just proves how flakey a lot of posters are. It's been said many times, but it's worth saying again: T-Mac can't do anything right in the eyes of a lot of these 'Rockets fans'.
Not a competitor? Can't say that. Athletes compete. Its in their blood. Is he as strong willed as Kobe? No. But thats not the same as competing. The will Kobe has Lebron doesn't have. Lebron is like where David Robinson was at his prime. All the talent. All the numbers. But...something missing. Its a rare trait that separates the mens from the boys. That killer instinct, if you will.
Are you kidding me? We're on an 8 game winning streak, and this trash is posted? I could care less if Yao and T-Mac average a collective 6 points as long as we are winning games, and guess what? We're winning games.
the pistons have billups, prince, hamilton, and wallace in their starting 5. each of them are legitimate stars. each is very capable of scoring 30 on any given night. dont refer to them like they're above-average role players. and to imply a comparison between jordan/hakeem and tmac...i hope you're referring to the wizard's jordan and toronto's hakeem. thats the only way you'd have any credibility. Ridiculous. Of course our stars have to do a lot perform in the first 3 quarters. If we rely on everyone except tmac and yao for the first 3 periods, then its pointless for tmac and yao to play in the 4th. i doubt they'd be able to overcome the 60 pt deficit we'd have. if you're star doesnt have the energy to take over in the 4th, stick his ass in the gym and work on his conditioning. truly great players are driven by competition. they dont complain about getting tired. the desire to win gives them all the energy they need.
I honestly don't believe Tmac is a leader, but he does compete. He does care, and he's proven it before. But people seem to forget that he's playing hurt. Sure he's skilled and talented, but what made him a special player was the skills and talent combined with the athletecism and length he has as a shooting guard. For the last couple of years, he's lost a few steps. Just go to YouTube and look at his game in Orlando or even his first season with the Rockets. He's not as quick anymore, can't get as much lift, whether its driving or shooting a jumpshot, and his defense isn't the same anymore. Injuries can do that to ANYBODY. You might say, he could shoot better, but the reason he used to shoot so well, was because of his abillity to rise up over players with ease, and shoot uncontested. Now, he can't do that anymore. Just look at ANY all star player thats played the game before, after 11 years in the league, they weren't the same player the were in their 5th or 6th year in the league. It happens. Look at Bird, Magic, Pippen, D. Wilkins, Hakeem. They had their big games every once in awhile later in their career, but once injuries got to them, they would never meet the bar that they set for themselves again. Its sad but true. The good thing for Houston is that Yao is our leader, and he can carry us throughout a game. He's becoming an unguardable player. If Tmac can be a facilitator and knock down a few jump shots we will be okay, as long as the rest of the team performs. I think Tmac will still be scoring okay, especially in the Playoffs, but don't expect Tmac to be able to average 25 ppg anymore, you're just gonna be disappointed if you expect that from him now. He's not the first person to go through this...
Yup, even when T-Mac comes back from the injury he's still going to have to deal with age. I really think Adelman's offense could be a real godsend for him and extend his career two to three years. Instead of trying to beat guys one on one work the system and get those open looks for easy jumpers. The best thing about Adelman's offense is that it allows players to compensate for the loss of physical ability with basketball smarts and passing. T-Mac's got both of those in spades, so if he makes the commitment I think he could really see some benefit as he gets older.
More sig updating. Thanks Also: Some of the things folks want T-Mac to do cant be done until the play-offs begin. You cant advance until the play-offs start. Nothing you do in February or March will help you advance in the play-offs, not this year. Problem is, he keeps getting ridden like he just screwed it up yesterday or last week. I mean, I can at least respect the ones who are leaving him alone during the regular season and waiting for postseason performances to make a judgement.
I told you to trade him for Kobe when Buss said he's willing to listen. You people are not listening and Morey is not smart apparently. And i said the same thing about getting Artest and again you people are not listening saying he's too much of a problems...and now you have thread of wanting to get Artest. Can i say...."STOOOOOOOOOOOOPIDDDDDDD"
You know whats funny about Dirt. Hes having one of his worse years since hes been a great player, but you don't see Mavs fans bashing him. I mean don't get me wrong hes avg. 21 and 8 thats not bad but for Dirt its not great. And the way he went out in the playoffs last year with only 8 points if that was T-Mac these fans would want him dead. I don't care that Tracy been playing bad the last few games. I will ride and die with him and same goes for the rest of the Rockets.
You know what I think Tracy still can avg 25ppg he just have to find another way to do it just like MJ did when he got older.
i think thats easier said then done, especially with the game clock winding down. With that said, I have concerns about his effort on defense and his movement on offense.
