The dunk wasn't even that great and I don't even like tmac, I think the bench just caused everyone else to overreact as well
Ouch. That being said, Delonte West is such a little b****. Biggest wannabee "gangster" in the NBA (yes, more than white chocolate).
There is a world of difference between someone dunking OVER (Really...OVER HIM) a 7 foot 6ish Bradley who was actively tryin to stop him and that lame excuse for a dunk over a guy who isnt even tryin to stop West. that dunk did not deserve that level of reaction...plain and simple.
If tmac wasn't limping around, then it would be something. But he is, so it isn't. Honestly don't care that it's tmac, I don't care for that kind of unsportsmanlike behavior from the bench. They took it to a point where it wasn't about celebrating their teammates achievement, it was about making fun of the opposition. And yes, I don't see why it isn't a fine for the benching getting on the court. If the league is going to call it for a trivial case in a pivotal playoff game, then they need to do it here.
The dunk wasn't even very good, he was barely able to dunk it and T-Mac looked like he could care less about stopping West. He jumped up with a half-assed attempt to stop the dunk.
Perhaps cuz the dunk was talked about already...This thread kinda confirms the fiercely pro/anti-McGrady hype is overplayed by just a certain faction of fans. They NEED it to be a bigger deal than it is to have something to grandstand about. Everyone is talking about the Cavs players' over-reaction. Nothing about the actual dunk, nothing about what it means to McGrady's career, etc... And GOOD.
What so great about that dunk? When you were a little kid, every corny practical joke was funny as hell. After you had grown a bit older, you had seen some real funny stuff, you stopped laughing at those little pranks. Those guys acted like that was the first time in their lives seeing somebody dunking with someone nearby.
What's wrong with kids these days? It's like they can't under the concepts of professionalism, respect, and sportsmanship.
Imagine if they had KG There used to be a concept called class. Guys that act like that all the time, have none. They are more concerned with everyone looking at them and being attention whores.
I don't see anything in that play that deserved the bench to roll over each other like little girls. That was barely a dunk. I don't think Delonte even touched the rim, he just threw it in. MerGady didn't even try to block it, no ownage there. I came in here expecting to be able to hate on MG for free, but that Cleveland's bench showered themselves with douche paint. It's so funny that Cleveland's team is basically LerBon, yet everyone else on that team acts like they have accomplished something with all the little schoolgirl horseplay. If LerBon leaves, I would love for them to still act like clowns.
This is it. The Bradley dunk had cameras on Tmac afterwards. The West lay-in had a camera on the bench and you can see in that shot more cameras filming the bench reaction.
t-mac with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block tonight in only 34 minutes. 6-12 FG, 2-2 3pt FG, and 7-8 FT. not bad.
exactly those two dunks were totally different, the tmac dunk was amazing, one of the best moments of tmac with the rockets. that dunk by delonte was decent, and didnt deserve that kind of reaction.
Hate to be the minority that disagree, but PLENTY of people tried and succeeded dunking on that poor Shawn Bradley fellow. Sure, he led blocks in one year, but the first reaction when you refer to Bradley is his decorative role on another player's poster. Further evidence shows that SportsCenter had a "Top 10 Dunks on Bradley" highlight reel YEARS before McGrady saddled him up. We're not exactly talking about dunking on the likes of the Mutumbo, Mourning, or Olajuwon here. In the case we have on our hand, we got a 6-3 bipolar guard putting it down on the decaying corpse of a perennial all-star and two time scoring champ, who used to play good defense in his prime when he put his heart... err, mind to it. The videos show how far Tmac has fallen, from the one that used to incite floor-rolling to the one being victimized by it. On another level, it's the irony of how people (and not just us Rockets or Tmac fans) are willing to tolerate things closer to us, but use a different measure stick for others. We love Scola and what he brings every night, but if he's still sporting a Spurs or, heavens forbid, a Jazz jersey, we'd be writing him hate mails and even worse, post on the internet about it I just find it intriguing that a polarizing figure like Tmac, especially in the eyes of Rockets fans, could generate so much interest, debate, and controversy. We all have our own reasons I suppose
Bro, wake up are you like 60? I understand the "concepts" you speak however its 2010! This sport has become all about showmanship, competitiveness and friendly bantering back and forth, take tmacs nurtz out of your mouth and realize what the game has become
