Don't see how it makes a difference... Never understood how a lot of people think that they're entitled to handouts from someone just because said person is wealthy.
^Yes, Amen!!! Totally agree. And even though Im not wealthy, I tip on the "service given" ,not because it's expected. So if you want an above average tip, your service better be above average.
That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard on this board. Wow. I'll tell you a secret - there are lots of millionaires out there (ESPECIALLY in Houston) who don't "look rich". Maybe your friend should pay attention to them as well and hope his take increases instead of expecting famous people to leave huge tips. Some people are cheap, some people are generous. Tips never correlate to how much money a person makes.
So how much is enough? I really think tip should be standarded same as tax. Everybody brings their income proof, based on that, tip is calculated. On another note, should he pay more for everything else since he is making so much money.
My favoriate story. My boss went to Tokyo, and stayed in a good hotel. The hotel employee wouldnt take her tip for the fear of being fired, becuase tip is not allowed there.
Your friend got an autograph that's worth more than another 10 lousy bucks. That autograph is probably worth more than the meal.
That's not really true, autograph values are dependant on a variety of factors: coa (certificate of authenticty) by a reputable source, object signed, player hype... Take a signed authentic jersey for example, you can buy one for under $150, considering the price of the jesey (before the trade) costs $100+... its not that valuable.
I was thinking of the inherent value of getting a TMac autograph in person, not what someone could get on ebay. Hmmm..., a tank of gas or a TMac autograph.......
So if you are rich, you should tip more than a regular joe, even if you both had the same meal, and both spent $100 for the meal ...................... hmmmm
