No HOFer has ever NOT made it out of the 1st round of the playoffs unless I'm mistaken.

Would seem odd to go into the HOF for a team that isn't even going to retire your number.

I'm sure he eventually make it to the HOF...the question of in which team is the more interesting question I think.

Mcgrady makes the HOF if and only if there's a category for most overhyped, overpaid busts ever.

He's an iffy Hall of Famer. If he had led his team to even a modicum of post-season success, he would definitely be in. His best shot at post-season glory now is to become the third option on a good team.

Ray Allen isn't a Hall of Famer, nor is Paul Pierce in my mind. Those 2 guys have way more post-season success than TMac and every bit of the regular season glory. The more appropriate comparison is Mitch Richmond. While not as athletic or dynamic as McGrady, Richmond was an All Star and was a very good scorer for most of his career. But he never had much success in the Playoffs except that year he was the 12th man for the Lakers.

While McGrady had Hall of Fame talent, he lazed his way through too much of his career. It wouldn't shock me to see him get in, but in my opinion, he belongs in the Hall of the Very Good.

Rodamn was the best rebounder of his time, he was a rebound machine, and of one of the greatest robounders of all time. It is a travesty.

And those of yall that are so blinded by hate, T-Mac is more a Rocket than most people want to accept. I'm glad he's gone, but please, he was a great part of this team.

And compared the the other HOFs, basketball is a joke. Guy Lewis anyone? That by itself is why I could never take the BB HOF serious.

he shouldn't even make it to the HOF if he DOES win a championship bc he wouldn't even be the reason why they got there. He would be second fiddle...maybe even third

What a strange thing to say. Let's see him get out of the first round, or play an entire 82 game season first...

If he ever had resembled nique, then it aint now. Tmac has to be in the HOF. H was just flat out dominant in his orlando days, and i know its measure on team success as well as personal, but he was so good back then i dont think u can deny him his HOF chance because of bad team mates, he was a most improved player and a back to back scoring champ

Those Orlando teams that featured Tracy averaged 37.5 wins during his 4 years there. The last year being capped off with a 19 game losing streak and a 21-61 record. Name a Hall of Famer with those credentials? We won't even get into the second round virgin thing.

Yes, Tracy WAS dominant (stat wise) during that time but that domination didn't equal wins. And the league is littered with guys who dominated in one way or another (for a short amount of time) that have had no consideration for the HOF whatsoever.

No way, Tmac is going to be to the HOF, Im not a Tmac hater, but he is not going to be there, people like Robert Horry, Elie, deserves it more, but not going to get it.

Just because he was a scoring champion?

I dont think he has a chance of making it without getting to that 20k points milestone. If he does, he is a shoe-in. If he does not, I strongly doubt he is ever considered.

Of course, the guy is still playing so who knows how the rest of his career will go. It may be one more game or 8 more years. No one knows really.

Are y'all out of your minds? McGrady would be the only scoring champ and all NBA 1st team member (multiple times on both counts) to not be in the HoF.

    He's definitely already in.

It is the Hall of FAME, so he may be considered in that way, but he would disgrace and tarnish the great names of the past by being inducted...

Name one player in the Hall of Fame that hasn't won a playoff series. T-mac is trash compared to any Hall of Famer.

    Statistically, he's a lock.

Hopefully, they look beyond the statistics and keep him out.

The problem is the TOFs would come out in full force and the fact is that he has a lot of loyal fans and the NBA doesn't want to alienate them before they latch onto the scrotum of another halfhearted, perennial loser.
