It's sad to see both our former superstars aging this quickly. With McGrady it's been a slow process of misery and denial, but the most likely scenario is that he's not going to get much better this season and all his fans (myself included) will have to find a new player to follow. Sucks balls.
I think this is exactly what the Rockets were trying to protect themselves from. All the people that were screaming for the Rockets to play him, just don't have a clue or care enough to realize it's not easy or certain coming back from this injury. It doesn't even matter if it's the same injury or not. Not playing Tracy was a brilliant business move. If Tracy was hurt before the trade I highly doubt the Rockets get everything they asked for.

McGrady can still: Beat his man off the dribble with ease (if he gets a screen or two) Finish at the rim (just not above it) Get his jumper off over anyone (if anyone means anyone under 6'3") Defend at an elite level (if he is guarding Dirk and the year is 2005) He's still the man!!
why anyone would trust the ny post is beyond me. it wasn't reported anywhere else that mcgrady was injuried. i mean, wouldn't you expect that to be a bit of a larger story?

Nike claims that Lebron will get additional bonus if he goes to NY. Lebron also stated that he wants to be a billionaire. Shaq left a contending title team for a lottery LA lakers team with no support just like the knicks and also knowing there was no other star going there. Kobe was a unproven player during that time. Wade, Bosh, even Johnson is much bigger name now than Kobe then. Your right Lebron may not go to NY, but it doesn't change the fact that there will be some sort of endorsement enticement or business deal that can influence his decision.
So Nike is withholding money from Lebron because he plays in Cleveland? Don't buy it! Sounds like Lebron needs to renegotiate with Nike. Even if they did "make up" the money what's the benefit? He could play on better team ( Title Contending Team) for the same money and play close to home. Who ever is giving this fantasy endorsement deal would have to significantly beat the max offer from Cleveland not just match it! And they would have to give it to another "max" free agent. For the record, Shaq moved on to L.A. to pursue a "rap & acting career". He also had a very talented Eddie Jones, Nick Van Exel, Elden Campbell, Cedric Ceballos, and Robert Horry (with 2 rings) in addition to young Kobe on that team.
