Hayes only played 7 minutes yesterday. I think the coach knows him well.

i would like to see that. or put battier on him. he's too strong for rafer (brooks would get ABUSED).

The fact is that we barely beat Sonics. Blazers are a better team, but the overral offense was not fluid.

This is the problem. You are happy to see that T-Mac was dominating (well, only kind of) in the fourth quarter and we won. But the reality is that you can't rely on him all the way to win playoffs. It has been proven many times. He can't single handedly win playoffs.

The team's offense need to run better. Everyone needs to be involved "running the offense", not just catching the pass from T-Mac and shoot. T-Mac creates opportunities is effective, but you can't rely on it all the time, we all have seen what happend in last two 1st round exit.

Exactly you can't just rely on Tmac. The other players need to make their shots so Tmac doesn't have to dominate. The probelm is the role players play like wusses and just defer to Tmac for the easy way out instead of trying to score themselves. Look at how good the Lakers look when they got Derek Fisher back. He doesn't just give Kobe the ball every single time. Tmac doesnt need to dominate if your role players arent afraid of shooting.

28 assists v. the sonics on the road. 8 players scored last night. everybody who played got at least 5 shots. that's what u call BALANCE.

tmac may still initiate a lot of the plays in the 4th, but the ball SWINGS from side to side. for instance with the pick and roll last night, tmac passed to landry on the strong side, landry passed it back to scola on the weak side.

another instance, tmac passed to scola on the pick and roll, he passed it back out to tmac, who passed it to rafer, who then swung it to battier in the corner.

unlike previous years, the ball swings better b/c we have BETTER players. when tmac passes to them now, they don't pass back. now they actually DO SOMETHING with the ball.

if we had landry, scola, and brooks last yr, we beat the jazz EASILY in 5.

T-Mac actually did an excellent job in the fourth against the Blazers of playing floor general. He ran the offense, but notice that the rookies scored the final 12 points for the Rockets.

The big problem over the last few games is that the Rockets' offense and defense has looked like ass for three quarters. You can't really fault the effort in the fourth quarter of the last three games but the offense has looked so fugly the rest of the game that people are legitimately freaking out and wondering what the hell happened to the beautiful passing game that we saw while T-Mac was out.

I went back and watched the fourth quarters of the Sonics and Blazers game and I'd have to say that there was some decent ball movement and passing to finish up both those games. The good stuff was just overshadowed by the horrendous play in the first three quarters and I'm wondering if that's coloring peoples' perceptions.

Also, note that T-Mac has been coming off the bench so you can't even blame him for the terrible offense in the first quarter of both those games. The starting unit needs a shakeup, and I don't believe that T-Mac coming off the bench will be enough. If Rafer doesn't really step up his game Adelman should start subbing in Brooks at the halfway point/end of the first quarter.
