a loser is a loser for a reason. no matter how talented he is. now imagine how many players we can bring to this team with his f**ing 21 million dollars.

All I got to say is a man with an experience is not at the mercy of a man with a scouting report. McGrady has played these guys 4 games now. And he's experienced Harpring ringing him up. He knows what's coming if this team don't get it together.

That is totally incorrect. Tmac is a tactician and a thinker, which is one reason he can pass so well. He understands angles very well too.

The player you are describing above would be more like a steve francis.

Wasn't it Yao that said he practically memorized the Jazz playbook?

Incredible, how different our two superstars are.

BUMP THE GOD DAMN CUTTERS TRACY!! USE THAT ASS AND BUMP THEM!!! Pressure the damn passer too. Fisher shouldn't be getting a 3 to 1 turnover ratio against someone with freakish length such as tracy mcgrady!

As good a player as Tracy is, he isn't god. He has flaws, he will make mistakes. But the problem is he seems like the guy who has reached the pointing of full of himself. He doesn't listen to anybody, and he thinks he doesn't need anybody. He thinks he doesn't need improvement, he's already as good as it gets.

So WHEN he makes mistakes on court, nobody DARES to tell him or talk to him about improvement. Even JVG, the control freak, doesn't dare tell Tracy anything. In his words, "I think Tmac performs the best when he has total freedom". In other words, JVG has zero coaching control over Tmac.

But it shouldn't have to be like this. Tim Duncan is as big as superstar as TMac, but Popovic will yell at Tim when he makes a mistake. When overconfident superstar makes mistakes, the coach shouldn't be afraid to speak out.

Man, give me a break. You can rest assure that the Rockets as a team watch hours of film. So having individual scouting reports aren't that big of a deal for a guy like T-Mac. The only thing he needs to get pounded in his head is to drive the fricken ball to the rack with tenacity and play with energy for 4 quarters. Tracy did a decent job on Harpring in the first 2 games.

Remember, a lot of these scouting reports are a 30-second read. Real quick, 300-word breakdowns with the (. . .) in between each facet to the individual's game. An entire roster fits on a 2-3, stapled paper that could be consumed in half the time the team bus takes in the ride between the hotel and the arena on the road.

(In Utah, where they stay at Park City, 1/10th the time)

Distressing news. I like Tracy a lot and make a point to shoot down all the "never made it out of the first round" people, but this smacks of his rookie year.

EDIT: Rocket_Zoom, read this post. Teams hand out scouting reports to players that are brief, to the point, and easy to consume. This isn't a long sheet of boringness. These sheets are David Benoit-proof.

McGrady should never be doing a "decent job" on someone like "Harpring"..

    He should be destroying them..

I'm surprised no troll has showed up with a "Trade Tmac" talk. Good.

I don't understand why Tmac is saying these things. He already has quite a hole to dig out of and he's only making the hole deeper and deeper with his comments.

I remember when this used to be confidence... but now it's just straight arrogance and ignorance. It used to be cool when he said stuff like that and it pumps up the whole team, but it doesn't really work anymore.

I wish he can somehow see that his comments is hurting the team a whole lot more than it is helping. I don't understand why he's saying all these? Do you guys? Because if it's to pump him up before the playoffs, it's really not working. And if it's to pump up his teammates, well that's obviously not working. Maybe he's just trying to get more viewership.

DaDa, even though I agree with you to an extent that TMac has been nothing but disappointing in terms of showing more grit, going beyond talking and actually taking this team ON his shoulders... looking back, do you think you're so much harsher of his this time around?

/Me wonders whether you're just getter snappier with age...

Absolutely not, I just have expectations for Tmac, and they are based upon what he has said.

And it bugs the crap out of me to see our team's leader basically quit during a game.

If Tmac ever wants to be considered a winner, he has got to start seizing the day, and playing all out EVERY single playoff game.

Otherwise the Rockets have no real chance, and that would be a wasted opportunity especially with Dallas down 3-1 to GS.

You guys are taking this WAY out of context. Tracy has been in the league a long time, and he's played the Jazz dozens of times. He emphasized in the audio clip of this quote that he "knows the Jazz" inside and out.

I'm not going to blame T for a lack of heart. I might question his shot selection, but the guy has never been one to wear his emotions on his sleave during interviews. I think he's just a bit shy, and he deals with all the media attention by being laid back and a little cocky. Let's see what he does tonight before hanging him out to dry.
