Standing around on defense is not the way to do it.

    English, please.

Right. What happened to your almighty +/- overall that you asked about? Didn't like the answer you got so you dodged it huh. And your completely off if you think he's bad bad on defense all 5 games. Blind hatred at its finest.

what does it take for you people to realize this guy is coming off of knee surgery and he is playing 8 friggin minutes a game, you can't expect him to put him 3-4 with 4 rbs 4 assist and 8 blocks... okay exagerated slightly, but seriously, step back, and put yourself in his shoes.

i dont remember him not putting his hands up on anderson, but anderson shot a few threes from the parking lot, when you see a player shoot there you think to yourself wtf is this guy thinkin, still it is the nba and your hand should always be up, but people do this **** all the time, i HATE MARK JACKSON, but like he says "hand down, man down" he didnt make that up for tmac either, he was saying that to players guarding kobe in the playoffs, KOBE IN THE PLAYOFFS , if people lose concentration for a little bit against kobe in the playoffs, then perhaps it isnt as ridiculous to imagine tmac not putting his hand up

this is his preseason and playing 8 min a night may give* him a nice transition step, it wont help build endurance and stamina.

seriously if you gave it a thought you may have been able to figure out what i was saying

Was gonna post about Rudy Gay right when I saw this.

People here would trade Rudy Gay for McGrady straight up. What happens when they watch Rudy Gay's exact same low effort D in a younger healthier body.

its not excuses, we just have to keep repeating ourselves, however you guys refuse to listen. Again if t-mac was suppose to be an impact for this team right now, he wouldnt be playing 8 mins. His 8 mins isnt for him to go out and try and be the difference maker for the team. Its so he can get the feel of a regular nba game again. see how his body responds, test his physical abilities, his quickness, and see how his body holds up after the game. I am so sorry that people want to see him come right out being his old self again. You guys just refuse to give it some time like your Rockets are doing with this situation.

The writing's been on the wall since last year. After all the nonsense and drama that T-Mac put the team through there was zero chance that T-Mac would finish out his career as a Rocket. He's burned too many bridges.

I'm guessing that Adelman's going to play him seven minutes, and only seven minutes, a game until he's traded.

The results have not been good when the doesn't give effort.

61 losses in his final Orlando season.

Jeff Van Gundy: "When McGrady defends, we defend." Chew on that.

All the crap in the first half of last year.

    Rasul Butler wide open 3.

Vince Carter wide open corner 3. Dwight Howard offensive rebound. Each with McGrady hang near the paint in the baseline. Watching. Stationary.

Ryan Anderson Open 3 with McGrady hands down.

1 - he was actually trying to play help defense on that rasual butler 3 b/c the clips were just punking us on the inside. again, his recovery is slow, so it was bad defense (but to your question, lack of effort?)

2 - same case with those open 3s.

and i'm really not going to argue the point on dwight.

i really wish i can do these tech stuff like clutch and R2K. sometimes arguments can really be solved with some straight up video evidence.

again, bad defense? yes. ZERO/NO EFFORT? no.

and people forget all that he has done for this fanchise, and then point to last year where he was in and out because he played hurt. You know instead of missing games like everybody complains about, he tried to play and it backfired. I am sorry everybody felt it was drama but it wasnt drama that meant mcgrady was a cancer to the team. And just what makes that nonsense. That he is trying to play hurt?

I think we got out of first round just fine before he arrived.

Real progress was made last year while he was flipping channels.

well he has made them contenders each season he has played minus two. I am okay with his playoff performances, just as i am not going to blame him for the playoff series, i watched those series and t-mac was a monster in those games. You cant agrue that. To say he hasnt done ANYTHING for the franchise is being ignorant. Ultimalty yes he has failed to get them past the first round and win a championship, but every players contributions isnt just measured on winning a championship. Mcgrady has been an all nba type player since he has been in houston minus the two seasons he was hurt. Thats what he has brought to Houston, they just havent been able to capitalize on it.

No, they have not. He is a poor defender. I think I put that in my post. Regardless of effort level he is not the only poor defender on this team and I'm not even sure he's the worst.

Sometimes teams take that gamble if a player can help the offense. I haven't seen him play enough to make a definitive decision on how useful he can be at this stage in his career.

Which man? The black one (Jamario Moon), the white one (Ryan Anderson) or his cousin?
